Here are my 3 different pink vines.

The single dark pink was sold to me by a woman that had pollinated some herself 2 years ago, she told me there was a chance they would revert, which they did, (they definately don't look like hers), but I forgot to ask what she crossed with what.
Edited for spelling.. I type like I'm illiterate LOL

Janis,
Your 'Fuji No Sora' is gorgeous.

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Thanks for the nice comments.

Emma ~ you'll have to forgive my being a complete novice ~ Mt. Fuji? The purple with white stripe are Maisugata, or at least they're supposed to be. As I mentioned, about half look like the one pictured above and the rest have solid purple coloring, like this ~

Hi Moby -
Not to worry, I'm still a novice as well.
I was only 'guessing' this was a Mt. Fuji
http://davesgarden.com/forums/fp.php?pid=1748106
that had apparently crossed.
Whatever they did, I just LOVE THEM.
Very unusual

Question: Have any of you purchased "yamatoji" from e-bay or elsewhere? if so,what was you bloom like? Here is what was advertised....

Thumbnail by golgi
Willoughby, OH(Zone 5a)

Her is what bloomed from 3 separate plants....

Thumbnail by golgi
Willoughby, OH(Zone 5a)

Of the 4 types purchased from e-bay,only Berlin Blue was remotely llike the pictures.Multiple plants of Fujimusumi,Yamatoji and Heian Akathouki have yielded small ,poorly formed blooms with no resemblance to advertised photo. Heian Akathouki was in the right color range but was flat, small and not ruffled, with only partial picotee edge.
What a bust.

Will comfort myself in the glory of Yuuzuki, the largest most spectacular MG this year

Mailings - if you go to the Post Office and ask for a meter strip(you can even request to have the zip code on it ),then you won't have to worry about it getting crushed by the machine canceling...

Moby - The Chiaki and the Mai Sugata seem to just do that often...the cooler weather may be adding to the pigments varying...

Emma - The wedding Bells that you posted does look like a more greyish pink and there isn't any yellow visible in the throat...not in the picture you posted anyway...is there yellow in the throat(?)...

Janis - the pink ones that you posted here
http://davesgarden.com/forums/fp.php?pid=1749167
the middle set...the bloom in the background is very interesting...When the white from the throat expands outward on the purpureas, this is what they look like...You seem to have a pink'Joyce Cobb'...got seeds from that one...and are those two blooms from the same exact vine(?!)...or are there multiple plants vining together...it may be a visual illusion of some type also...

Gourd - I had noticed B&T calling something 'Caprice' on their list and so that 'old fashioned' I.purpurea is it...I have always liked the different shades of the light blue ones...Also,Please(!) post pictures of the sepals on the almost mature seedpods of the Ipomoea muelleri as soon as you are able...

TTY'all...

Morning Ron,
Can you tell me more about this please
"Moby - The Chiaki and the Mai Sugata seem to just do that often...the cooler weather may be adding to the pigments varying..."
I am wondering which blooms you are referring to with these names as I find them both very interesting and beautiful.

Yes, my 'Wedding Bells' does have a yellow throat.
Here are some photos of bloom #2

Ron,
Back to Moby's blooms.
Is this what you are calling 'Mai Sugata'
http://davesgarden.com/forums/fp.php?pid=1748106
If so, are these the 'normal' blooms for this?
That bloom intrigues me.

Emma

Thanks Emma...here's my 'Yamatoji' for today
