Emma, your pale blue on prev, thread looks much lighter than Akathoukinoumi. Did you take it in the sun or with a flash? I would love to trade seeds with your for my akathoukinoumi,if it really is that pale! it's a beauty!

Jacksonville, TX(Zone 8a)

Gail,
That bloom is on the seeds that I grew labeled as 'Shibori Purple' -
and it is a Pretty Pale Blue.

I also started seeds labeled as 'Akathoukinoumi'
http://davesgarden.com/forums/fp.php?pid=1703693

These two blooms look very similar. The 'Akathoukinoumi' is also a Pale Blue, but slightly different shade --- and the throat on this one is larger than on the 'Shibori Purple NOT'.

Can you tell a difference - and if they are the same?

The 'Akathoukinoumi' seeds are From Japan.

This one is AWESOME.
A Pure Solid Chocolate with Pink Halo at Throat
with same White Picotee Edge as the other Henka Types

I need to look at Dr. Yoneda's site to see what this Edge is called.

Emma, That last picture looks just like the one I moaned about in the forum # 14 that was not Aogakiyama. I bet I sent you that seed LOL.

just wanted to stop by and say - emma, your blooms are gorgeous as always.

Just to touch base with you.........the Akathoukinoumi' I grew this year would start out a pale, pale blue almost a silvery blue, but within 15 minutes of opening it would begin to darken and would be the color of the ones you see in the post now. It never got as dark as "Keriyu" does but it would change as the day progress and it closed....I never got a picture of it at opening only later as it opened but my bloom was a light as Emmas and then darkend to the one you see here.

I wonder to how much where it is planted has to do with how the color looks. If it is planted in the shade it will be lighter and if in the sun you are going to get a darker bloom? I will have to try some of those experiments later and test it out...

Emma,

Some of the MG seeds germinated after 4 days. I hope they grow fast so I can see some beautiful flowers, collect some seeds before it gets cold.

It was with great anticipation that I was awaiting this first bloom. It was suppose to be Fujibori Wisteria Tye Dyed. This is what I got. Though not what it was suppose to be, and torn from its blooming process, it is still pretty and hopefully future blooms will skip the tearing process.

Thanks, Emma, I know not everyone who subscribes to this thread knows about that other thread. This is the last one for now in this thread.
