It just died...

I set out a very healthy heliotrope plant the end of April. It has not stopped blooming since!! It had a nice home behind an immature hydrangia and in front of a few flocks, Checked it one morning..everything was great. Checked it the next morning and one side of the plant looked wilted but I could not find any sign of breakage (dogs, etc) However the rest of the plant seemed untouched. Whew!!! Next morning walk ....healthy plant...dead as a door nail!!! Why?

Maybe it bloomed so much and so vigorously it ran out of oomph. I have had different erysimums do that.

Could be I guess but I don't like it!!! Me don't think me will be a plantin' any more now!!

Pull it up and check the root, maybe something there to cause damage? If the roots look healthy, try potting it and see if it comes back.

Gotcha

My first guess would be a mole tunnel or grub damage. Jessamine

Well now everything within about a 3x3 section is dying off. I think that with all the rain the ground is soured and very acidic. Maybe? I've transplanted everything that looks like it might pull thru but I have many losses:(
