All of my strawberries have perfectly "drilled" holes into them, and when you eat them, they taste like they are getting moldy. What kind of bug does this and how do I get rid of them!??????!!!
Thanks for any advice,
Mara
drilled strawberries
Mara, This sounds like slug damage. There are a few beetles that might do something like this, but the fact that you describe the holes as "perfect" makes me think it is slugs. If it is slugs, your best bet is to get some of the commercial slug pellets and sprinkle them around the plants, then make sure to wash the berries very thoroughly before you eat them. If you don't like using poisons, there are lots of different types of traps that you could use, but for me, the slug pellets are the most consistently effective.

Thanks. We do have some slugs around. Maybe I'll try a beer trap and see if it helps the problem...
