I put a trap out to catch this dillo at my friend's house..it was digging up her flowerbeds just about everynite...I released it about 5 miles away out in the middle of a cattle pasture...
This is not my kind of friend....
I hope you washed thouroughly after letting him go. You can get leprosy from 'dillo's but living in Texas you probably know that.
I didn't know that! I've only seen one that wasn't road kill either. He sure is a sad looking creature.
He does look sad. Leprosy is rare in the US so it's good to be careful with armadillo's but you shouldn't worry. I guess 95% of people are immune to leprosy and it is curable now.
That is one of those weird things that keeps me up late at night Googling around for info. lol Do other animals carry it? Did Armadillos spread it in other countries? etc etc??
I do the same thing!
I wear leather gloves when I release any wild animal that gets caught in my traps...Girl Scouting knowledge from when I was younger sure comes in handy...lol...
