I just put down some cocoa bean mulch last week and all moldy underneath the top stuff.....has anyone else's every gotten moldy? Can't be good for the plant...think I should take it out?? Ugh....what a chore that will be....wasn't moldy when I put it down....we had 3" of rain the other day but it's been hot, windy and dry the last 3 days....
Moldy mulch
I'm thinking the problem will resolve itself as the mulch dries. If it bothers you a lot, you could spritz with a little peroxide water (1 Tbsp std 3% hydrogen peroxide per quart). I've had a little mold on regular hardwood mulch, but it went away pretty quickly and didn't seem to bother the plants at all.
Thanks....maybe I'll leave it go awhile...it's actually alot and the it's slimy also...oh well.
