Okay I am getting annoyed! I am glad that some people got rain, appreciable amounts of rain, but...that, has not happened in Denton. We have had a little, but not nearly enough...will someone please send some, this way?
RAIN!!
GRRRR!! I swear there is a giant umbrella over our hill! Storms brewing all around us almost every day & not a drop to speak of here. At least it has been cloudy all day today & the weatherman promised some rain late this afternoon. PLEASE!
Everyone talking about where they are in Houston brings back lots of memories! I moved from there about 7 years ago...Kipper, my office was just off Kirby on Richmond. dmj, we rode bikes from Bear Creek Park @ Hwy 6 to Katy all the time! & Marylyn, I lived just inside the loop near the Galleria, San Felipe & Briar Glen. Can't say I miss that traffic! Now the longest wait I have on the road is waiting for the peacock to move out of the way!
LOL When we lived in the boonies in Northern Ohio we had some chickens that would stop traffic. I miss living in the country! :-)
About a half inch yesterday and again this morning here in NW San Antonio. After 43 days of none, that smell was wonderful.
I just thought I would let you all know that the reason TX is getting rain is because I spent all day watering Wed. ALL DAY, my grass was so crunchy. I moved my cheesey, sorry little sprinkle from spot to spot starting in the morning and finishing up late at night. It is because I watered so thourghly that it has been raining for the last few days! Now I have mushrooms growing in my flowerbeds!
So, you can send your thanks in the form of chocolate and/or english roses :)

And what will the cost be to keep you watering your yard for the rest of the summer all day oh lets say once a week?
It's raining, it's pouring, the old man's not snoring. We're listening to the rain. That thunder sounds sooooooo gooooooooood.
mydaisy--I'm just north of bear creek and south of copperfield...small world ain't it? No rain here at all today so everyone else must have gotten some!
:)
We got a couple of inches middle of last week, then yesterday we got about 3 inches. It's rained in spots down here, parts of Brownsville got lots of rain, some got none. San Benito and Harlingen the same, some got none, some got soaked!
We went to get a generator yesterday, and DH and the neighbor have gone to get more plywood this morning. They're giving sandbags away this afternoon for Cameron county. Guess I'll be shoveling sand later! Don't know if Emily is coming close, but we will probably get rain.
It looks like Emily is going to stay south. It's heading for the Yucatan Peninsula now, and then is supposed to continue going mostly west and run into Mexico. We'll probably get rain, but should be out of the major damage zone. Yayy! :-)
