Morning Glorys 2005 #4
Thanks so much Emma!I will have fun and i WILL think about you all.Have something to look forward to when i get back!
I had one like that last year from seeds that somebody gave me.
I'm just about ready to give up on morning glories. The leaves get so yellow at the bottom. It seems as if I'm always pulling off yellow leaves.
Was supposed to be this one:

I'm so mad at myself. I went outside yesterday morning to check my morning glories to see if any where about to bloom, when I discovered a huge pale blue one in my pot of Giant Mix. The only problem was that the sprinklers had really destroyed it. Today I didn't get a chance to check them until around 11:00. This same vine had another bloom on it that was already closing from either the heat or it was just getting too late for it. I think from the looks of it , it would be beautiful in the very early morning. It is a beauful sky blue, but must be a very fragile bloom.
You all have got me hooked looking at your photo's in several different forums. Your blooms are beautiful!!
I ordered seeds and now I have to plant them. I will probably leave most in the pots.
Where should they be in shade, partial shade, morning sun, I probaly have the same growing conditions as many of you. I am in South Florida on the line of zone 9 and 10.
Connie
Connie I am so glad you are enjoying the photos and I am hoping you will have good luck growing yours.
I must say the ones I have planted in mostly shade are doing the best now. I would say with the heat we are having this time of year that sun about 2 hours a day is about all they need and still be pretty.
Most of the ones i have in full sun or sun most of the day are burning up and I don't think I will be getting anymore flowers from them.
Good Luck and keep us posted...
Dee
Well It sure looks like "JC" to me.... Give it a few more blooms and see how it looks then. Right now I am leaning towards it being JC....................
Very pretty....
This is NOT my photo - Photo is Larry's [Daturapod].
Here is what his 'Joyce Cobb' is supposed to look like,
including the color change at the end of the day.
Larry also says that if your 'Joyce Cobb' blooms do not have the
Blue-Purple turning to Rose-Pink by the end of the day,
IT IS A MUTATION called 'Rebecca'.
Luvs, did you check it again in the afternoon? Did it change?
Let us know that way we know more of what to look for with this one.
Thanks so much for the info Emma, I didn't know there was a "Rebecca"
Learn something everyday..... I put them together so we can see them side by side
Last year was my first year to grow JC and now that I see from Larrys photos
I may not have had JC either..... Mine may have been
"Rebecca"
Yoo Hoo.....
Larry Where are You ???
Larry, Let us know about these blooms.
I am growing mine for the first time this year with seeds that I received from Larry. Should have blooms any day now.
Oh Wow Emma that is "Drop Dead Goooour-jus" I love it......
Yes Larry do come on and let us know about the Joyce Cobb....
Where did "Rebecca" originated? Who is the hybridizer?
I know we would all have some questions.
Joyce Cobb was hybridized by Larry Smith [Daturapod]
Thanks Dee,
Isn't my Ume Shimo INCREDIBLE!
Yes it is and you better save me some seed..............LOL
I am sooo jelouse over here. All my stuff is burning up and and
I have fewer and fewer blooms. But it is getting just about time to
plant a second round of MG's.............I don't know if I will be able
to do it this year or not........just to many irons in the fire right now.
Here is more of those beautiful Chocolate Silks you sent me seed
of. They are doing better than just about anything I have and they
have sun about 2 hours a day.
Your CS are So Pretty!
The first mg flower of the year besides the SunSmile dwarfs. I went out early this morning and there were 2 blooms open. The bugs got to one of them before I did, and the other one turned out too light in the picture, but here they are anyway. The flowers are very fragile looking and huge. They are from the Giant Mix.
