Just got back from a short vacation to Galveston....

Nut4Spuds your Baby Blue Mt Fuji is awesome. Very Pretty!

golgi to answer your question about my VELVET Deep Purple-Blue Slight Picotee Cross - Yes it is from one of my Henka Asagao Crosses. Just need to see more blooms to see if they all have 'Velvet' looking Blooms - and since I've been gone for 4-days, I haven't seen anything except for a few that Jerry took for me.

Here is one that looks very much like my 'Real' Plum Frost.
BUT, Jerry only took ONE photo - and didn't indicate which vine.
Geez - give him one job!
Wow, Can't wait to see the next blooms on that vine.

Jones Creek, TX(Zone 9a)

Emma your photos are great and I must agree with Gogli sure does look alot like the Fuji Musumi, But it dosn't have quite as much of a Picotee edge as Fuji Musumi, how pretty this one is, hope you save me some seed Emma.

I hope your trip was a blast, we go to the Island often and if I had known you were there I would have come out to meet you. I am about 40 miles from it. But some other time.

Well finally my ChaChaMaru bloomed. And I have a very pretty and this time true flower......I do like it and will use it in some crosses when I get the chance. This photo is a little Dark, I took it a almost daybreak since these things opened at just about dark yesterday evening.

Dee, I'll have to watch for the blooms again for the one that looks like Fuji Musumi -
Jerry didn't indicate which vine it was from!

That would have been great to meet you. In fact, It did cross my mind that you weren't that far away from Galveston. I'll be sure to LYK when I get to go back. Went to Moody Gardens, but didn't take the time for tours. Now, I wish I had. I did, however, make stops at three nurseries on the way home [One in Galveston], and came home with my back seat full of plants. Awesome Plants.
Your ChaChaMaru is GORGEOUS!
I had BUNCHES of more awesome blooms this morning - including some very interesting NEW Crosses.

Willoughby, OH(Zone 5a)

Here is my daughters first "Blue Silk" bloom. What's up? Could it just be that it was the first one,or will this EVER look like Blue Silk?

I have some I. hederifolia var. lutea to contribute here...these are so neat and bright! I'll probably end up growing these again next year.

The Blue Silk doesn't look like one to me. Did she buy them or did she get them in a trade? I had some seed that were supposed to be white that turned out to be totally blue...

Here's my native I. linderheimeri...I had not idea that the blooms would be so beautiful! This is supposed to be growing wild in my area, but I'd never seen it until I grew it. It's a very soft periwinkle blue, and the leaves kind of remind me of snowflakes...

Here's my 'Heian No Umi'...I had no clue the flowers were going to be so HUGE!

Gail, I would wait until the vine is a little more mature and you see a few more blooms before you decide what it is. I know the first Blue Silk I found was awful and I wondered "well is this it or not". It did turn out to be a true "blue silk' so don't lose heart just yet. It was maybe my 4 or 5 bloom before it stated to act right......LOL

B' your MG's are all just beautiful. Thanks for the post.

Good Morning, QueenB
I have been looking for you!

I have found a lithograph seed packet of the blue moonflower you have listed on your site.
It is listed by the granddaughter of the person who owned the business in Carthage, MO.

I relooked at your site and says you already have the packet. I emailed the g-daughter and she says she never had the seeds - bummer!- just unused packet.

Here is link in case you want to check it out.

Hi Nikki,

I've spoken with her myself...I wish she did have the seeds! :-(

Willoughby, OH(Zone 5a)

Ok,I'm leaving for the month of July to a cottage on Lake Erie...no computer,no TV! So my vines will have to fend for themselves, and it's killing me thinking about all the blooms I'll miss.I'll see you all in August and hope there are a zillion new photos posted!
Gail
