Phlox color bleeding

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

Just wondering if Tall Garden Phlox will bleed the colors if they are planted to close together. Any one have any ideas? I have it planted close and this is the second year and so far so good. I have the rose color next to the white. Bobbie read or heard somewhere that it would bleed.

I've heard you should watch for seedlings popping up because they often revert back to the magenta form. If allowed to grow, they can be more vigorous than your named varieties and crowd them out. That's the only warning I've heard about phlox. The dark colored variety is particularly pretty in your pic, do you know what variety it is? Neal.

The white is David and we think the dark is Tenor. We have it written some where but can't remember where we hid it. LOL We have 10 varities. It sure smells good.

Don't you just love to bury your face in those soft, sweet smelling blooms! I have to wait a few more weeks to see most of mine bloom. I have 7 paniculata varieties now. One of the new ones I put in this spring is 'Sandra' and it's about to start opening. I don't know if it's the nature of the cultivar to bloom earlier than the others or if it got a head start in a greenhouse that has pushed it ahead. In any case I'm happy to see my first tall phlox blooms of the season. Most of them bloom with my Oriental lilies; I'm looking forward to a really happy nose!

My purple phlox and the white occasionally make one that is apparently cross pollinated but that is ok with me since I like variety. This year I got one at a discount that is bright pink but I planted it in another bed. You never know what these bargain plants will turn out to be. I want some now with the darker eyes!

Georgeous bed of phlox! Here's 'Sandra', I love the hot color. She's been blooming for over a month.
