Rots of Ruck on that one M5...

Fort Pierce, FL(Zone 10a)

That's pretty country up there. My daughter looked in that area when she was "escaping" from Miami, but eventually settled in Polk county (Bartow)

Since my son bought this house a little over two years ago, the prices have jumped 47% in Fort Pierce! Thank goodness there hasn't been a big building push, but it's sure to come. Port St. Lucie, south of us, is one of the fastest growing communities in the U.S., and it's only a matter of time until people start coming here to escape the traffic, etc. Of course Vero Beach to the north is growing also. I sure will hate to see our "small town" way of living vanish. *sigh*

Heehee... Happy! I know....my honey-do list comes well down below his list of things he needs/wants to get done. Play with cars/ nap/eat/go on Ebay/stand outside with a hose and stare into space....LOL He usually gets around to it eventually and since I am hopelessly inept at nagging, I've learned to be patient . It's all just like housework, it will wait however long you can put it off.

Picked about a quart and a half of wild blackberries in the back corner this morning. Threw them in the freezer, jam coming up in the future on a cooler/dryer day.

Morning everyone - quiet here ... My folks were out here all day yesterday - from 11 to 7, so I didn't get much done. My mom likes me to sit with her and gab and laugh - so I ususally do!! Took MIL to the doc and wonders of all wonders - she wanted to go shopping afterwards! Now ususally she wants me to bee line it for home, but yesterday wanted to visit Hobby Lobby, then two other stores. I had my folks waiting for me at home, so I told her I could only do one store. It is a good sign that she wants to get out, as she NEVER goes anywhere. Actually we had a pleasant time!

I have SO much to do that I can't seem to do anything. Ever been that way? As soon as DH goes off to work, I am gonna get moving. We are leaving for a ten day camping trip and DH wants to leave the cat outside. He is an inside/outside cat, but prefers to be outside. I am worried that he will miss people and cross the street (he's never done it before, but this could be a first) He always comes inside to sleep. DH is not a cat lover and says - if he gets squished, then he gets squished....I will worry the whole time I am sure.

Supposed to get back in the 90's this week - I have a gal coming every other day to water my potted flowers, but it if is that hot, then can't make it without a daily water. I will probably lose some potted stuff. I am gonna give the beds a good soaking today - then sink or swim!!

Molly glad you get to stay where you are another year. Wish our house had gone up in value!!! I think it is sinking as the land around it was rezoned light industrial. Who wants a factory in your back yard (we have one going up as we speak!)

Well, DH found another woodchuck. I can imagine the damage it will make while we are gone...I sometimes think we should just stay at home!!

Gotta get my fanny in gear - take care all!

Take care sarv, and I'm sure you'll have a "TRIP".....lol Full details when you return......

Molly, glad you are going to stay put another year. I would rather do anything than move!!, Although that is a good way to weed out the junk!! Sounds like everybody had a good safe holiday weekend. Yesterday was overcast and cooler, so I mulched a new flower bed, started some cuttings of clematis, trimmed shrubs, watered, planted some annuals. Got a good deal on some edging yesterday at walmart. Concrete rose pattern 8" long, that had been 2.47 each, marked down to 50 cents each. Today is cooler too, so may start that project. My Jack Russell was in his first dog show last night. He won his class, and was 3rd in the all around category. He did better than I expected around the other dogs. Wasn't distracted too much!! Well out to the yard to decide what to do today.

D'cat, I just moved in here last fall. I don't have any junk yet. Actually with the exception of 99 to 2004, the past 15 years of my life have been pretty mobile so I have always managed to keep the clutter down. Many times I have moved and disposed of everything except my clothes, bird cages and dog toys. Now I have a house full of furniture again and rather like settling in for a while. This next year will give me an opportunity to plan for the next move, out of this area.

Well, I tried yesterday to get myself fired from the sign painting job and the man said I was probably being to critical of my work. So I'm back at it today to finish them and turn them in.

Tomorrow some of our DG'ers here in the county are meeting at a local nursery. Can't wait. Seeing Happy_1 again, Artcons and Jnana, maybe more. Not sure what Hap has got organized. Looking forward to it.

Then back to painting offices downtown again on Friday and maybe Saturday too.

Now, if I can stay out of the garden, maybe I'll get those signs finished and out of my way.

Have a great day all!
Molly

WHAT??????

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Morning, everyone! I had a lovely Independence Day. Went to Bud's where he had a small party and I stayed overnight. His house is up on the mountain so the deck has a good view of the valley, where town is located. The town fireworks started about 9:30 and we had a great view! Lots of OOhs and Ahhhs... you'd have thought we were all kids!

Some quick replies, then I need to pack and leave for Boone to visit my mother.

D/cat, LOVED the GF painted toenail story! And congrats on the dog show placings.

Robert, thanks for the kind words about the Nectarine Marmalade! Love the beard... Tennessee Ernie (Ford) used to say if you knew of a good picnic spot, you didn't mind going through a little brush to get there.

Woodspirit, no I haven't made any decisions about moving. I guess I'm still waiting for P. Charming to come along and carry me off! Hey, you already gave me a hosta... and how are the raspberries doing? Has your S.U. had his fill yet?

Sarv, do slow down and make your trip FUN! Who cares if something didn't get packed? I worry about your cat outside for 10 days, though. Mine is both inside-outside, but always sleeps inside. Mostly inside now that she's older, unless I'm out working in the garden and she's nearby sleeping in a sunny spot. She gets unhappy when I don't come home to sleep inside with her!

Mary, your son is right, the building experience should increase the feelings of trust in clients in real estate sales.

Y'all have a great day, and I'll be back late Thursday or maybe Friday!
