ARGH!!!!

Have ya'll ever tried to water a 20x22 veggie garden and 3 15 foot border beds one pond surround and umpteen containers with a watering can and a washbucket?

DON"T DO IT! It sucks.

That is what happens when your hose fittings break and your plants are thirsy and your DH hasn't gotten "roundtuit yet. (of course the thing just broke yesterday but I am not a patient woman...when my plants are thirsty>...LOL!)

It took me 1 1/2 episodes of Dora the explorer (aka 40 minutes) and tht isn't even the front beds..... sigh....DH will be fixin it tonight...or else...LOL!

Ok- done whining - think I'll go plant something. Nevermind -- it would need water, think I'll go deadhead something....LOL!

I feel your suffering, poor thing!

Last time the well was out, I filled both kids wading pools from the city water faucet. When they were done playing in it, I gave them their own juice jug, with the top cut out (holds a gallon), and said "Take six jugs to each tree, and four to each bush" that was per child (have two). They had a lot of fun, and I found a use for that murky water they have played in! Meanwhile, I was hauling two at a time to the garden, and when I was done, all the juice jugs got a last filling to sit until the next watering...

You need a Dora Movie! We have a couple of those, I think the priate ship is one, and the Christmas one has three episodes on it!

If I can whine a minute, my "gardens" are spread out over three acres, a little here and there, and NONE of the faucets are "centrally located". But my kids love dragging the hoses for me. Just wait, your kids will be big enough to help soon, and then, of course, it will take up more of your time, and some days you will wish that they still watch Dora LOL

You need to find the "auto replay" function on your player :)

Do you mean the ends on the hose? LOL Go to the grocery or Kmart or one of those stores, buy the pieces and fix it yourself. :) Now, if you mean the metal part at the house, better find something fun to do while you wait on hubby. LOL

DH did it while I cooked dinner.. and it was the metal part that you screw the nozzle on to, on the end of the hose not an easy fix. DS found it yesterday----- "OH MOMMY!!!LOKK AT YOUR GARDEN!!!" It was under 3 inches of water. It burst while we were out running errands. Lets just say-- I am soooooo glad I have raised beds in the veggie garden- they were definatly bottom watered! LOL!!!

Normally I would just do it myself, but gotta make the DH feel useful once in a while. LOL!!!
