How about calling the forum:

EDIBLE - INEDIBLE

You could list and discuss herbs, flowers, seeds, leaves, bark etc. and most importantly list what should NOT be eaten - poisonous. It would be one place to go and safely try.

That would be a great Idea

I would love to see an edible- unedible forum too. Ther so many plants that you read are edible and have no pace really to discuss them Soemtime s one type of plantmay be edible but another cultivar of the same type plant isn't.

Wow FarmerDill. You a world of information. Woudl love to learn about sassafrass. Got some growing.

As my children were growing up I taught them which "weeds" were edible. They caught on the the extent that I used to joke that I never had to cook for them I only had to go out and pray the lawn with a little vinegar and oil and send them out to graze!

Flowers.. be very ..very careful with not only the eatign but just handling of mushrooms in the woods and fields. There are very few that are edible. very few. There are lots of them, especially one s that have what look like a collar on the stems are very posionous just by touching them.

There are some good handbooks for mushrooms from the Audobon Society. very good pics and discriptions.

LOl Kathy. That cracks me up. How I wish it was that easy. : )
