Sick Pulmonaria please help

Littleton, CO(Zone 5a)

I originally posted this in the perennial forum but only got one response. I am getting really concerned that my pulmonarias have some type of virus. If that's the case I don't want it to spread to the rest of the plants in this bed. I don't know what's wrong with them. They receive some very dappled sunlight in the afternoon, are in well-drained, fertile soil. They get plenty of moisture from the sprinkler system. The new foliage is all crunched up (how's that for a scientific description?). I have 4 plants in the this bed and all 4 seem to be experiencing the same thing. I can't find any signs of insect damage. It doesn't look like powdery mildew, but I could be wrong. I don't want to start randomly treating these plants with insecticides or fungicides when I don't know what the problem is. Any advise would be really appreciated.
Thanks,
Christine

I have had this lovely plant for some years, but mine
does not have the white' fuzz' as the picture shows.

I still think the problem could be thrips and their
eggs, which would be the white'fuzz'.

Why not clean off the 'fuzz' and see?

Best wishes...

PS: I meant to say 'White flies'.

Sorry.

taramark,

Thanks a million! I was feeling kind of desparate. In sick plant no man's land. I will clean off the fuzz and have a look. I looked up thrips in the Garden Terms and the photo of the damaged daylilly does look similar. This is such a great plant for my shade garden. The foliage is normally beautifull.
