DG slow or fast today...

I'm interested in finding out whether DG is slow or fast for ya'll today.

dave

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

Very fast. What did ya do? I have cable modem and the pics were taking forever to load. Kept thinking I had gone back to dial up. Everything is loading fast now. Even when I click on pics to enlarge them. Cool.

Thanks for the report! If anything changes, let me know.

dave

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

much faster than yest. the pictures are loading quickly and i havent gotten any of the dreaded "reload" messages.
whatever you did, i sure like it!!

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

Good Morning Dave,

Are you referring to some period of time after you posted above?

I have had some "site losses" all night and some this morning. Gee whiz, one of my postings I made in your other thread even got lost.

Right now, in this immediate bit of time and space, things are running pretty fast. Can't complain. You fixed?

Molly
:^))

Yes, I'm just talking about now; as of the time I made the post.

We're now running on the new hardware!!! ;-)

dave

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

Cool, Dave,

I thought we were going to have to wait til tomorrow. Things have been great since your post. We all really appreciate you working on a Sunday to get this done.

((((Dave))))

When I got up this morning and saw that everyone was having trouble accessing the server, I got to thinking.... a lot of people weren't even able to access the site at all, and when they could access it was "spotty" at best.

So, I figured to go ahead and do the switch this morning. A couple minutes downtime wasn't even noticed since nobody could access it anyway. :-/

dave

Hiouchi, CA(Zone 8b)

Very fast today
even searches are working again

thanks

Yay!!!

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

It's wonderful!

I gave up last night it was so bad, figured you were trying to keep us limping along till you could make the switch.

I'm not sure it's ever been this fast for me...and I'm on dial-up. Pics are loading with mind-boggling speed!

That's super news! Woo hoo!! :-)

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

Thank you for working on Sunday.

Lilesville, NC(Zone 7b)

It is working great. Thanks Dave there for a while I thought it was my puter and I was about ready to throw the darn thing out the window. I'm serious.

Linda

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

Really really appreciate it. So many of us work long hours during the week and spend alot of catchup time reading and posting on Sundays. This is great.

(Linda) Winfield, KS(Zone 6a)

I can't believe it I click on the back and it is back before my finger leaves the mouse. It's great.

Franklin, LA(Zone 9a)

Woo Hoo!

This is much better than it's been here lately.

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

I came over here to see if something was going on. I am extremely slow. I'm timing out or getting an error on almost anything I click on. And many of the pics just have a red x on them. I've tried DG through internet explorer and also through AOL thinking I had a problem. Is it me Dave or maybe Oklahoma?

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

I am still lightening fast. Maybe try clearing out your temp files and cookies?

Kennewick, WA(Zone 6b)

It is much better!

Thank you so much! Ü

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

for about the past hour i've been getting an error message saying page can not be found. it then takes me to google for similar pages.
when it is working tho, its zipping right along

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

The same here. I must have gotten that same google 100 times. I'm still trying though! LOL Trying my best to read as much as possible.

But like Jen said.....when it's working, it's zipping right along!!

smithton, MO(Zone 5a)

ok im the odd man out....i cant get the tabs to load at the top of the page, or the pics from the roundup...:(....i have been trying...and as i type it still says 10 items remaining to load...lol.....i have dsl and it usually loads pretty fast....ill keep trying.....and now that im done it says 8 items remaining......lol

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

It's working very well for me

Judy

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Dave, I keep getting error messages (site not found) and then it returns to normal function. Only a little bit faster page to page for my dial-up and viewing photos full-size is not any faster.

Auburn, AL(Zone 8a)

Fast for me...until last night the only problems I had where during peak hours (first thing in the mornings and then around 5:00 cent time) Thanks tons for taking time out on a Sunday to fix the site, I'd go into withdrawal after another day like yesterday. *G*

Saint

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

Today, the site doesn't seem to be able to finish loading pages. I can't see images.

Last few days, I was having trouble getting pages to load. I'd have to keep clicking refresh until the pages appeared. And overall it was slow.

Hope it can be fixed. Thanks.

southwestern, IA(Zone 5a)

Yes Much better Dave...ty
I am really more of a lurker than a poster but I was beginning ot have withdrawl symptoms...lol
ty again

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Just to let you know Dave, AOL is still having issues with Dave's. I keep getting an AOL page that says
"Can't Find the Web Site
500 Unknown Host
The site may no longer exist or it may have moved.
Double-check for any misspellings, punctuation errors, or extra spaces.
If these suggestions do not work, try restarting your computer."

or I get in but it won't go from page to page.

I switched over to my Internet Exployer and I am whizzing thru the forums.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6a)

Super fast :), but no banner on mine.

Actually, no pix anywhere.

Dave, we're getting a mixed bag here.

I'm on dial-up and have no problems connecting with either Firefox or IE. Pages and pics are loading quickly, searches are lightening fast.

SO1 is on DSL and can't get to DG through Firefox, IE, or AOL.

Could this be a cookie issue?

Donna

I am aware of those "Site not found" issues and took steps to fix it this morning. All those errors should be cleared up by tomorrow.

Tip: try accessing DG at:

http://dg.davesgarden.com/

Those of you with problems, please try that link and let me know how it goes! You'll need to relogin again when you get there.

dave

Spokane Valley, WA(Zone 5b)

SO1 just rebooted and attempted to login via the regular addy as well as the one you just listed. Nada.

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

The pages are loading now in a flash for me. I thought it was just because there were fewer people on line and I just cleaned this machine. But it is great to know it is your new system at work so the changes will last!

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

Dave, I'm having the same problems as Kell. Explorer is running extremely fast and no complaints at all. But my AOL is so slow and continually giving me an error page. I tried on AOL to go to dg.davesgarden.com but it still gives me the same error. I've tried 6 or 7 times, I'll keep trying.

Northern California, CA

Morning Dave -

DSL = www.davesgarden.com IE here loading consistantly fast, crisp snap loading!

DSL = http://dg.davesgarden.com/ = Page Can't Be Displayed

AOL Dialup - Page Can't Be Displayed on either link

Okay, these "Page can't be displayed" errors must be gone by tomorrow morning. If they persist in the morning, please do let me know!!

dave

(Linda) Winfield, KS(Zone 6a)

Everything still working good in little ole Winfield, Ks.

Wow, it's working so much better this morning. I was working on my journal last night and it was terribly frustrating. Took me until 3 AM, so lots of those can't access hits were probably me. :)

Today it's working great, even on dial up. I have DSL at my office, and this dial up here at home seems almost as fast as the office.
