DG slow?

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

For the past few days, DG has been slow to load, especially pictures. Is anybody else experiencing that or is it just me?

Cincinnati, OH(Zone 6a)

I have been, too. Maybe it's an Ohio thing? ;)

Well it's going on here in Oregon also...LOL
SLOW.....

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

Well, I am relieved to know it isn't just me - I didn't want to have to go searching for bugs on my computer. LOL

Northern California, CA

Slow to load the header and forum images here in California the last couple of days too. Perhaps too many of us are inside (COLD & WINDY weather here!) rather than slaving in our gardens. So far my weekend has been all DG talk and little progress in the garden!

I think our San Jose, CA server (which hosts all the pictures) is on a slow link currently. There must be a problem with the internet in that neck of the woods. I'm hopeful it'll clear up soon.

Dave, FYI, I've been experiencing the same thing as Happenstance. :-)

Only the weather is different down here. lol

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

Whew, thoought it was my computer. Pics are loading sooooo slow. And I have cable modem.

No. San Diego Co., CA(Zone 10b)

Gee, and I thought it was just our usual slow connection being slower! I logged out a couple of times.

Merrimac, WI(Zone 4b)

Happening in Wisconsin, too. At first I thought it was my ISP, so I checked to see how other websites were loading. Seemed to be only DG.

Dallas, TX(Zone 8a)

Same here too. I thought it was my computer also. It is nice to find out that it is a server problem and not my computer. That had me worried.

I am not having a problem with pictures loading but the whole site loading. It is getting more frequent and has been going on for at least a month. It says Web site found but no reply. Then times out and says Web site not responding. It does it on AOL and on Internet Exployer. Then sometimes, I finally got on Dave's and then it won't go into any of the forums, but times out again. This morning it did it over a period of about 15 minutes. Is there anything I can do to avoid this? Thanks

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

The DG homepage has been slow to load for me today - less frequently the other tabs (PlantFiles, Watchdog, etc) are slow to load. My guess is it's a combination of high traffic and the San Jose server being slow...

Spokane, WA

i and TF just noted that its taking two and sometimes three clicks on a tab or DG link to get it to move. i get the 'done' word at the lower left of screen, but nada happened. two or three clicks and i get the page i wanted.... anyone else experiencing that?

Spokane, WA

ok, it took thirteen clicks to get back to this forums after posting my last comment!!!

Cincinnati, OH(Zone 6a)

yeah, I'm seeing that too.

Gordonville, TX(Zone 7b)

Very slow in Texas, as well!

Spokane, WA

lol... isn't everthing slow in teeeexas?

i'll go now... :D

Arod

Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

I'm getting page cancelled over and over and over.

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

I'm using my right click to open new windows, which seems to be forcing the pages to open better. But still some blank pages and nothing-ness. Sigh....let's hope the new servers are up and running soon!!!!!

Spokane Valley, WA(Zone 5b)

I'm finding that, if I wait more than 5 seconds (like 10) before doing an additional click to get the page, it's a bit more responsive. Most of the time, though, I'm clicking a second or third time within a second of not getting the page... it's hard to be patient and count.

I imagine Dave is pulling his hair out right now... just hope they're only the 'rasta' ones! ;)

Ok I'm glad to hear others are also having some difficulty.

Brookhaven, PA(Zone 7a)

UGH!!!!!! This is makin me nuts!! Every other time I click anything a forum ect I get the "this page is not available" junk.... what is goin on?

Yep slow here in Iowa too.
I agree Terry, sooner than later on the new servers would be great!

Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

Okay, I give up. lol Dave, this just makes me appreciate you even more for the normally fast, seamless connection. I will not take it for granted anymore. :-)

Seattle Burbs, WA(Zone 8b)

Just to report ~ I am having the same problem in Washington. I click two, maybe three times for a page to load.

Seattle Burbs, WA(Zone 8b)

10 minutes later............back to full speed!

Spokane Valley, WA(Zone 5b)

Maybe we need to restrict access to all those chatty DGers on the right coast, Sue! ;)

Ya'll need to go to bed earlier so those of us on the left coast can get a word in edgewise. lolol

Spokane, WA

lol... TF loves to get in that extra word, ya know?

not that i complain, mind ya... i've learned to work it to my advantage... :D

Seattle Burbs, WA(Zone 8b)

ROTFLBO!! Yesum.....us lefties need our SPACE! Nice to meet you both!

Seattle Burbs, WA(Zone 8b)

Ok - 10 minutes later we are back to 3 or 4 click ville. I have cable modem

Port Lavaca, TX(Zone 9a)

I'm getting blank pages too and had an error message.

Northern California, CA

Skipping along here at a good pace.......pretty normal speed and image loading. Hang in there, our great leader is working on the new equipment and it will most likely load so fast you will miss it if you blink. :-)

What was your first computer? When did you first log on to the world wide web? I remember making meals between pages loading.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Very slow here too (what a relief to find this thread :)......I can't get into many of the forums or threads (most pictures don't load at all). I've been having Ad-Aware search my puter twice a day now.......I'm sooooooo glad to see it's not my computer or Dave's! Hope the San Jose server gets working up to speed soon!! ;)

Gordonville, TX(Zone 7b)

Candy, my first internet computer was a Packard Bell 386 running Windows 3.0 with AOL. In 1992.

John

Northern California, CA
