Let's hope weegy12 stops by.....perhaps she has found out by now which one it is. I think her original post was on the California Forum asking for an ID. So many Epis, I'm losing track.....but I too am waiting for Ursula's big show! Perhaps on the 4th of July???? We'd have to have music and fanfare for that one!
I've been thinking that I would put together a collage once everyone has posted all the flowers for the season.......a quilt of Epi Flowers for 2005. Many flowers yet to come I hope!
That container is actually a compilation of two things. The top is just a terra cotta bowl that I liked the shape of. The base is seperate and has it's own bowl top.....the standard sloping sided "bowl". Nice but average....I liked the shape of the base with this alternate bowl better. This came from a local nursery late last season as I recall.
The Epis Are Here, The Epis Are Here!! 2005 PART FOUR
Candy, a collage would be lovely. I look forward to seeing it!
Candy, great pictures, I especially love the one I took!!!!
I'm looking forward to watching yours grow, send pics.
Yours is planted and very happy where it is. Enjoy.
Did you notice that I sent you a different one? I don't know what that one is as it has never bloomed. I guess I have 3 or 4 different ones but don't know what they are. I have a 4 sided one and then the flat ones. The flowers are gorgeous. I'm glad you're happy with them.
I have 2 night bloomers, one has a beautiful fragrance the other does not.
Oh my goodness Gourd!
I think 'Ruth Wallace' whether it is red or not has to be my all time favorite! I've never seen that one before, it is just awesome!!
They are both beautiful and unusual, so very pretty. Congratulations to you for being such a good Epi Mom.
Edited to correct the name from 'Red Sails' to 'Ruth Wallace' as Gourd found a tagged example!

Candy, let me know if you want any of these and I'll mark them. And send them to you later on. I do have a Red Sails Cutting that I can do now. That one survived the culprits last year.. although it does have a couple of rust looking spots on it and I don't know if it is from the chain on the baskets, it seems that all the ones in that type of basket have some kind of spots and the ones in pots do not. very interesting... I may move them all out this fall.
Salmon colored one from last year.. I was a little more creative when taking photos and used a black cardboard behind each flower, boy they really stand out that way... gonna go find my cardboard...
Gourd you have mail coming, thx!
Beautiful, Antoinette!
I wish to have this epi Red Sail! So PRETTTY ONE!!!
Antoinette, I agree with Candy! And if I were in the States I'd be begging and pleading and offering up one of my children for a piece of that Red Sails! Well... okay... perhaps not my children....but SOMETHING valuable! LOL It's just about the prettiest thing I've ever seen! Your salmon colored one is gorgeous too.....such a soft and elegant color! WOW!
-Julie
Gourd,
How do you have yours planted. I see something of basket with lining.
budgie,
They are in metal baskets with coconut fiber liners.. they do drain very, very well, .... I find that the winds here dry them out really fast, so I have to hose them every other day.
here are some of them under the tree.
edited: to say thanks Julie and everyone for the compliments.. I will keep feeding these guys so they can grow and I can share..

Oh what a great way to display them....and have them where you can really see and enjoy them! If my trees ever get big enough, I'll do that too :-)
-Julie
Great pictures, Antoinette! I have those hanging baskets too and love them. I'll post of picture of mine tomorrow.
Here are my hanging baskets and what I think is in them: Epiphyllum anguliger, Selenicereus anthonyanus, Epiphyllum chrysocardium, Epiphyllum phyllanthus var phyllanthus, Epiphyllum crenatum, Selenicereus testudo, and Selenicereus pteranthus. I'm not sure about the first two because they are both Ric Rac type epiphyllums.
Clare those look great! :-)
Antoinette, it just blows me away seeing that Red Sails! Gosh I wish I could do international trades LOL
-Julie
Thanks, everyone.
Antoinette, your Red Sails is so beautiful!
Can't wait to see your white ones, Candy!
Beautiful, Candy! How is the fragrance?
More more more, Candy! Please! :-)
The fragrance is there, although it was so windy last night I couldn't take any additional pictures and you had to stand downwind to catch the perfume!
Bizarre weather......overcast and cold again with lots of wind....not what I'd call the "beginning of summer".
Between gusts this morning I was able to get a few pictures of the first two white ones to open.
Lovely!
Gorgeous Candy....but how big is 'big'????? Details woman, details! LOL
-Julie
mmmm, smells wonderful -- purty, too. :-)
Julie -
You usually have such eagle eyes.....spotting things I don't even notice.
Did we not see the ruler above the flower????? LOL
The scale is in inches. :-)
http://davesgarden.com/forums/fp.php?pid=1505636
Take a deep whiff everyone, they last but a couple of days. But, there are many more to come.
Nope didn't see the ruler above the pot! You should know better than that! I'm looking at the flowers, not the pots. LOL
Unbelieveable! Nearly a foot across! WOW! It makes mine look like a runt ROTFL!
-Julie
LOL, Julie! I missed the ruler too!
Candy, it is an amazing flower, you lucky woman you.
On a another positive note, I think I have flower buds on my Epi oxypetalum that I got as a cutting from Glasshouse Works last year. It sounds crazy, I know. The buds look distinctly round compared to the flatter new growth that is coming in. I will be so excited to have blooms this soon because I really didn't expect blooms for years to come.
I am waiting on another bud that should open today. It looks pink. More to follow...
