This may be a silly question, but please bear with me. Is osmocote and MG Shake And Feed pretty much the same thing?

Probably but I have used osmocote for years and will swear by it. I used MG one time (got sucked in by the coupon, you know) and the results were just not the same. My big fern was disgruntled. I also have a lot of hanging plants and had some staining below the plants. Bleaching concrete is not my idea of a way to spend Saturday afternoon. It wasn not what the plants and I were used to. I suspect they are very comparable.
