Thought my breakfast was ruined, but managed to eat a half a meat loaf sandwich, a small bowl of rice pudding and a huge mug of coffee laced with my favorite creamer. So much for eating healthy!! Downed my allergy tablet along with a vitamin and glucosomine/chro. pill. I'm full!!
Uncovered the plants- lost count after 70 bag/pots covering things. Plus a multitude of sheets and tarps. Cloudy and cool here, but forcaster said 70's by the weekend! I am laying awake nights worried about where I am going to put things...when I worked I worried about work, now this. Will I ever NOT WORRY??????
wood- congrads on the historic preservation stuff - talking in front of adults makes me tremble...hate it. But give me a bunch of kids and I am on stage!!
Darius, good thing you didn't try and catch that knife! disaster.... DS was throwing an axe and dropped it on the top of his foot - split it wide open (just before vacation too - nother story)
off to the exercise joint, then hopefully some planting time!!
Coffee and... Part 15! : )
You know that old saying "blind in one eye...can't see out of the other"? I thought it was *just* a 'saying' until I found myself living it. hehehe
It's taking me a quite a bit longer to read the posts today but I'm glad because I laughed SO hard. I'm beginning to think that my DH is right...women *are* dangerous in the kitchen! (Looks to me like I'm in good company with y'all! LOL)
M5...a 50% workload reduction? Reading? HA! I'll bet you tried to do it anyway, didn't you? I sure hope you weren't a 'proofreader' by profession. hehehe ~ OH and about that "body orifice"! THAT'S the ONE!! :-D
Robert, did you ever tell us what your DW thought of all that work that got done while she was gone? I would have LOVED not having to be around for the all building/remodeling/redecorating projects MY DH has done during the last 40 some odd years. But I do have to say the very best Thanksgiving dinner I ever made was the one when he ripped out the walls and ceilings in the kitchen. (Man, I wonder if they sell plaster dust at the grocery store...makes a WONDERFUL ingredient for dressing! hehehe)
Mary, I don't think your horse went lame...I think he just decided that if you wanted to go 50 miles then you should have used the car. (Glad you weren't hurt by those "rough riders"...and sorry *anyone* had to pay the price for *their* stupidity! Things like that really get my goat.)
Betty...GOOD for you! Being involved in the "guts" of politics scares the bejebbers out me. I think it's bad enough that I understand something of the 'surface" of what's going on. I'd probably kill someone if I understood all the why's and wherefore's at the 'underground' level. LOL
Darius...thanks for that 'Snoopy'! IT seems like he shows up every time I really need a 'smile'...in one form ot another. ;-)
Hap...we're changing your name to 'Emerilla'! I never knew about the watches and bracelets.
The worst accident I ever had in the kitchen was when I was 16. Dumped a broiler pan full of blazing grease on both my feet. (Oh Lord! That was painful! I couldn't believe that feet could actually look like over-baked potatoes. And would you believe that I didn't go to the hospital? The pharmacist that my mother worked for sprayed my feet with 'Foille' and sent me home. I still have BOTH feet!)
Sarv...I sure feel sorry for you about the 'sleepless nights'. My biggest problem is that if I fall asleep in my chair, by the time I get to the bed I'm wide awake. Or if I start watching T.V. in bed, I'll stay awake all night. Now, I take the Tylenol P.M. just to make me *willing* to go to sleep. (My biggest problem is nighmares...and I think that's why I don't *want* to go to sleep.)
Well, peoples, it's time for eyedrops...and time to get ready to go to the doc for a post-op exam. I'll talk atcha later.
~julie~
BAM!
Know exactly how you feel Julie! It'll get better. I wasn't proof reading, just approving claim documents, and old old tiny printed designations.... Boy am I glad I'm retired!!! Hope all went well with the follow up exam. Just checked in for a moment, gonna go get some clothes on
Hap, you're FUNNY! : ) How come we didn't talk cooking at the So.FL RU? 'Course I probably wouldn't have talked much if I had known you were a CEC, LOL.
Julie, my worst accident (to myself) in the kitchen was as a teenager, too, similar accident... on-fire burning grease dropped on just one of my bobby-socked feet, setting myself afire. Burned up the curtains over the sink, too. Mother wasn't too happy when she got home from work that night.
Sarv, sorry we ruined your breakfast appetite!
hehehe "BAM!" is the word for the day! (Hi, "Emerilla") LOL
M5...after going through this for just a little over a day so far, I'm surprised you didn't murder someone. The frustration of not being able to see...even as well as you did before the surgery...is enough to set anyone on some kind of binge. ;-)
Obviously, I'm back from the post-op exam...everything went well. Doc said the surgery looked beautiful (I didn't say the surgeon wasn't *good* I just said he was a PITA. hehehe) They put an old prescription lens into the left side of my glasses and NOW I can SEE (sorta!). The doc also told me that I can do repotting and stuff as long as I was careful NOT to get any dirt or dust into my eye...so I'm a HAPPY camper!
While I was in town, I treated myself to a new (and WAY too expensive for me) planter. It's a HUGE frog! I'm going to go uout and take a pic so I can show you all the kind of a whift-O you're acquinted with. LOL
Be back in a couple of minutes or so.

About time I showed my face around here again. Just too busy with plants, work and DGD.
And today, my day off, I am doing a repeat again - I 'm beginning to feel like I'm in the Groundhog Day movie. Woke up to water in the basement AGAIN!!! Maybe third time's the charm? Boy, I hope so!! This time the pump died. Water was 3/4 across the floor already so must have died in the early morning hours. Since almost everything was still up from the last flood, only one box looks iffy for saving - the Christmas tree box. I managed to get another pump hooked up, plugged in and then dropped the trouble light in the pit. That was an interesting bang! NOT! Pulled it out by the cord after I unplugged it. Then I got the garden hose screwed onto the pump and out the basement window, down to the ditch. And I'm exhausted. Middle DS came home to wash clothes and he's vacuuming water right now. I'm too pooped - can't even type!
Been lurking here, enjoying everyone's stories. :)
darius, we'll have to at the next RU.....Isa thinkin' maby late fall in S. FL.......
Hap
Arghhhhh...I just hate when I have to start a new thread when my pictures cause a long download time! (I'll get another started in little while!)
Here's the second one.
(I just love the look on this one's face. Reminds me of *me* LOL)
~julie~
P.S. WOuld it be ok with the rest of you if I started a thread in the Photo forum to hold all our GOB related photos? We could just upload our pics there and our conversation threads wouldn't get so hard to load.
