I looked through the Dog and didn't find this online plant sales site listed
http://mgonline.com/StillAvailable.html
This page lists plants still available, and I'm sincerely interested in the purple Tabebuia impetiginosa, which *seems* like a good deal at $22 including shipping, but I've been burned too many times in the past to risk it no matter how tempting the plant material.
I'll probably try to find it using PlantScout and buy from a reputable source, but I'd love to hear from anyone who's dealt with these guys, too...
Thanks!
Anybody bought from mgonline.com?
Liila: after reading through their "Plants and Seeds Policy", I would be very hesitant to order. They don't accept returns, and they don't provide refunds. If anything happens to the plant, it's the buyer's sole responsibility. That's a deal-breaker as far as I'm concerned. But, it depends on how much you want the plant, and how difficult it is to get someplace else. If you're willing to chance it, go for it. Personally, though, I'd keep looking.
I was intrigued by this statement "Weather conditions in your area are your responsibility (you, the buyer)." Wow--I don't know about you, but I haven't mastered weather control yet! LOL!
Rhonda
I think you're probably very right. I searched PlantScout for the Tabebuia they are offering and noone else seems to have it. At present I have $100 worth of jade vine plants pending receipt from 2 different online sellers and am nervous enough about those without having to add any more gray hairs due to worry...I'll keep looking. I don't understand why it isn't more commonly available, being a "plant of the year" here in Florida and all. I've been looking for it locally now for months.
Thanks for being a voice of reason and keeping me strong, Rhonda! ;-D

They are listed in the Watchdog, but their name is very different from their URL: http://davesgarden.com/gwd/c/2465/
Thanks Terry! I hate these "dba" con artist companies selling under a myriad of names... There are so many of them anymore. I will definitely avoid these guys, and I'm sure everyone else who reads this will also. I felt that their website was a bit "slippery" and didn't really seem to have a homepage with relevant information about the company.
'HE' is most uncooperative and is NOT a Master Gardener.
Gosh, don't I sound arrogant?
You don't sound arrogant at all. You sound like someone who's had to deal with a belligerent con artist. Who lies about his horticultural credentials.
do not buy from this company, I receive his offerings online, but when I searched his site: mgonline.com, and hit the contact me button there isnt even an email address. No way to contact him.
Too bad, but hey! welcome to south florida!
Chuckle...Yep! Welcome to south Florida, all right. Every conman and ripoff artist ends up here for some reason. Easy pickins for the transient criminals...So, handbright, can you recommend any favorite nurseries in our neck of the woods? I'm always willing to travel an hour or two if need be. ;-D
Liila - I found this company listing the Pink Trumpet tree but no GWD rating here. THey also say to call for availability on this one so they may not have it currently.

I also found that Monrovia (a commercial grower) grows these but only sell to nurseries. Using their website I found a list of nurseries in your area that carry Monrovia plants. They may or may not have the Pink Trumpet tree but at least here's a number of local nurseries you could call to see if they have it.

Good luck!!!!

Actually Gardino's Nursery (langbr's link) has 23 positive comments in the Watchdog: http://davesgarden.com/gwd/c/224/
Thanks Terry! I think I just looked under the URL name of RarePlant.
Wait, i guess im confused, but why is mgonline.com ( located in FT lauderdale) suddenly being called gardinos nursery (located somewhere else)? I thought this thread was about a nursery in South Florida, specifically mgonline.com.
Terry?
handbright - I was merely trying to find Liila some alternate sources for the tree she was looking for. I looked up on Google for sources and then pasted links to what I found. mgonline has NOTHING to do with Gardino's. Terry was just pointing out that the first link I posted WAS in the GardenWatchdog even though I didn't find it.
mgonline....bad rating
Gardino's.....good rating
Got it and thanks! Im not the sharpest spade in the shed sometimes...sorry for the mix-up.
Amy
Brenda, thanks for your help. I've emailed with Andrea at Gardino's a couple of times, but haven't been able to buy anything yet because I keep wanting stuff she's out of.
I will call the 2 most local nurseries on the Monrovia list. If I'm meant to have one, eventually it will cross my path. Thanks again for all your help!
Amy - no problem. Sometimes I have a habit of leaving out important words when I'm typing too fast.
Liila - good luck....I hope you find one, it's a very pretty tree.
