Creeping Charlie is taking over

Kirksville, MO(Zone 5a)

Does anyone know how to get rid of Creeping Charlie? I pull it by handfuls and just can't get control of it. I think it's Creeping Charlie or henbit or something like that.

LOL! I thought I read somewhere ... maybe in a Jerry Baker book ... about a dishwashing liquid solution, or something like that, that was supposed to stifle them.

Though, in my heart of hearts, I'd love to move to Oregon and grow six foot foxgloves!

Oregon is nice, if you don't mind a lot of rain. My neighbor has a couple foxgloves and they are great at leaving offspring to the point that they are being called 'invasive' by many gardeners here. With a lot of of rain comes the slugs...so many of them.

gross on the slugs. they are just so yucky. i battle them too but i'm sure not as many as you do.

Nellie.......thank you for taking my remark about moving in jest.....but I do know about creeping charlie, and its one of the worst weeds going.....Because its a perennial weed, you just can not get rid of it.....You did not say if it had invaded your lawn or your flower beds....If its in your flower beds, have you tried Weed & Feed?? Also, Preen has a weed killer too that will not hurt your flowers. I found this website on "charlie", and it may give you just a glimmer of hope here....

Thank you Deann.

It's in my flower beds, my lawn, inbetween my bricks in my path, in the gravel driveway ... everywhere! When I said it's taking over, I meant it. I truly pull it out by the handfuls all season long.
