Mother's Day came early for me!

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

It was too heavy to cart around, so Russ gave it to me today! A beautiful Bird Bath! I have always wanted one.

That's a really pretty one! Happy Everyday!

I should leave this picture on the computer for DH to see...

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

as a "hint hint"?

Tucson, AZ(Zone 9a)

That's the idea. Whaddaya think? Too subtle for a person of the male persuasion?

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

I think it's a great idea! Perhaps you should mention one of your garden friends got it for mother's day? Or would that be too much?

south central, WI(Zone 5a)

Karrie, that is lovely. Hope that you have robins around-they are such vigorous bathers!!

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Very pretty!!

Umm, I don't think subtle works. Have three windows open. One needs to say something about mothers day, one a wish list and one needs to be the picture. LOL That *might* work.

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

hee hee - agree - subtly never works. I told Russ what I wanted a month ago and he didn't forget. BUT........... I'd mentioned it "subtly" in the past........ years.......

Royston, GA(Zone 7b)

That is beautiful! I have to go get my own presents or I will end up with a sweater, my DH doesn't mind though lol. (this year for mothers day he gave me a hundred dollars and said "Go to home depot without the kids and have fun for mothers day lol) I have tried subtly several times. Its almost like I have to throw a brick at his head with a note attached for him to catch the hint!!

Edgewater, MD(Zone 7a)

Now if I could just get my DH to realize I just want the money to pick out my own stuff. Oh the things I would have, LOL. Dont get me wrong I love the cut roses he brings me, but... oh Dang it, now Im drooling at the mere thought. LOL.

waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)

Step One: Save picture as screen saver
Step Two: Leave computer on
Step Three: Everytime hubby walks past the 'puter, say "Look at that nice birdbath"
Step Four: Stand in front window, sigh, say, "Wouldn't a birdbath look nice over there"
Step Five: Drag DH to car, drive to nearest garden center with that kind of BB, stand in front of it, ..................Say "Oh, LOOK, they've got my birdbath!!!"

If this doesn't work, buy it for him for Father's Day.

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

LOL! I love it!

I guess I'm lucky that I got this, huh? I was mostly surprised that he got me such a pretty one! It has to be one of the best presents he's ever got me - even over jewelry and leather jacket (I thought those were neat - but this one tops them all).

Edgewater, MD(Zone 7a)

Karrie Im sorry I meant to tell you how beautiful that bird bath is. Thats something I would have picked up for myself.
If I got a gift like that I would think it was one of the best presents too. To think that even if he didnt understand the obsession he at least thought that much about you. Your DH has very good taste. ☺

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

I thought so too! He said he saw blue ones, green ones and even pink and purple ones! Thank GOODNESS he didn't go for those! I think the color of this one helps accentuate the flowers in the bed. Bright Purple?! sounds like a horrible distraction, lol! If any of you have a bright purple one, I apologize!

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

I have to laugh. My husband knows to never bring me home a plant or any part of a plant unless it is growing in dirt. LOL He tells the kids all the time to NEVER buy me cut flowers.

Tucson, AZ(Zone 9a)

LOL, meezersfive! My DH has received a number of "mutually enjoyed gifts." :) That may may be the way to go.

Badseed - My DH has learned "no dead flowers" like your DH but I got a big batch of roses from a parent today for Teacher Appreciation and I have to admit that they're gorgeous. *sigh* Don't tell anyone I said so, though, okay? As soon as they start wilting I'll remember right from wrong.

Hey, Karrie, that bright purple one would fit in great with my Mexican pots in the courtyard. You would have sent it on to me if he'd picked that one out, right? LOL!

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

lol! I can't help but wonder how much it would cost to ship something that heavy.

Northwest, MO(Zone 5a)

Luv the birdbath :)

south of Grand Rapid, MI(Zone 5a)

gonna try they brick with a note attached - learn something new every day here!! Nice bird bath by the way!! (note to myself to get ours out!)

Rutland , MA(Zone 5b)

EXCUSE ME LADIES but as a man, i will give the picture to my dw for a FATHERS day present. LOL

karrie and all of the mothers out there, i wish you a safe and happy mothers day.

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

Thank You Herbie! :-)

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

LOL Herbie!!

My kids and I ran to a store where they were having an awesome sale on hanging baskets. I got a Fuschia, 3 New Guinea Impatiens, a variegated Pelargonium-neat form that I have never seen and a beautiful Begonia in a tangerine shade, it looks like roses.

I should have asked hubby for a birdbath too! I was telling the kids where one would like nice and decided it would get killed by a soccer ball!. LOL

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

The birdbath I have would kill the soccer ball, not vice versa, lol!

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Your's really does look substantial! LOL I have six kids though and a soccer ball hitting it would not be a rare occurance. :)

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

It's made of concrete. :-) and it's not hollow!
