I also have several lilies that look like the one in your 3rd picture.
Tulip breaking virus in lilies - Just found one !!
Yes it is normal in many lilies. I just too a walk tonight and more and more lilies are starting to open up and this is how most of them look.
kdjoergensen,
Will the flower be messed up if they have the virus? If so what will they look like?I'll post a photo when the 3 I took photo's of bloom.I have close to $100 in new lilies coming.I have spent way to much on more lilies and don't want them diseased too.I'll put them in a totally different bed away from these I have now.I don't think I even seen an aphid I don't know what an aphid looks like.I looked lilies up in my Ortho problem solver;disease book and that first one looks very sick.I does look just like yours.
What do I spray? or is there something natural that keeps aphids away from my lilies? Is the disease transfered from my tulips? They may sound like dumb questions but that's the only way I'll ever learn.lol.Thanks again for your help.
Jody
Below is a picture of tulip breaking virus in lilies. If your flowers open up like that you should cull and remove the lily. The leaf colorations you saw in my pictures above is caused by the mosiac virus. The flowers may not be effected, but eventually the virus will cause the lily to deteriorate.
Seperating the lilies until you are sure is a good idea.
Oh Wow!!
I sure can't miss that.Thanks,Jody
