Will ground covers choke out hardy perennials? I have creeping ginny and lamiums that are going wild, and I wondered if they will hurt the perennials. If not,it's good weed control, but I don't want my phlox garden to wither because of the ground cover. Thanks for any info you can share. Lou
Ground covers
I have Creeping Jenny and lamiums. They do not smother out the perennials.
If you are talking about the tall Phlox, no problem. If you are talking about the ground cover then I would be concerned.

Thanks, They are they tall phlox. Sounds like the ground covers will live to see another day.Lou
Lamiums do however love climbing in and on perennials, at least in my beds....I have had the perennials damaged by that fact, but never had them smothered out to the point they don't pop back the next Spring.
