My house looks like a wreck!

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

Well, Suzi, fancy meeting you here LOL

I am also a Flybaby as described WAY up in this thread..... but I have fallen so far off I think I even lost the Fly-trail LOL

The FlyLady thing works, if you stick to it. The problem for me is sticking to it. I have an ADHD daughter, and I'd put money on me being ADD, but the last thing I need is another medication to take :-P

My love seat is completely buried under clean but wrinkled laundry, there is a load if towels left to do and a load in the waher and one in the dryer, but the basement drain is REALLY messed up, and the water is 2-3 inches deep down there and boy does it REEK! I need to do dishes but the dish water runs into the same drain *the reason for the stink) and if I do them, I"ll have to go down and sump pump out the basement (YUCK) the kids have managed to mash toast and pizza into the living room floor, so I have to vacuum.... I also have LA irises that HAVE to be planted today..... and where am I? Sitting on my butt in my pj's on DG LOL

I think its gonna take more than luck Suzi :) Where did that cleaning fairy go? I was sure there was one around her someplace. She musta decided it was a lost cause and found some one else ot live with *smile*

Your little heart at the end is really cool BTW

Janis - you too can do it... I put how to's in my journal under 'html codes'

As for the cleaning fairy, i think she felt used + abused + ran away!! ~ Suzi ♥

Suzi,

Thanks so much for the warm welcome. I hope your back is feeling better toute suite... what a painful way to get a day off!

Thanks Suzi, will check it out in a bit.... I just did a walk around outside, boy it got hot!!

The kids are being PITA's about playing outside, they only have a month b4 school starts, they need to play while they can. By the time they get home from school, do homework and dinner nd baths, its bedtime, so once school starts outside time for them is just about over :(

Janis

Moon Twp, PA(Zone 6a)

AB - hey, that is my nickname too, from childhood / maiden name. 3 brothers still call me AB! This is day 3... unfortunately! Nice to meet you AB / Deb

Janis - And I find it impossible to enforce the rule of 1 hr of tv a day during the summer, when the "inside only" 19 y/o watches the "can't go outside alone" almost 8 y/o. They are at their Dad's + Grandma's now, so hopefully, she is spending more time outside. Nights + wkends, whenever I say I am going out, poof, there she is, ready to go out with me! ~ Suzi :)

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

Where we are, I can let the 8 and 6 yr olds out alone, its really rural. The 3 yr old has to have supervision, tho, and of course he would play outside all day every day, rain or shine, 100 degrees and 100% humidity LOL I send him out with the girls sometimes when I am working on the porch or in the kitchen but they have a bad habit of leaving him out there. He goes out with me in the morning when I go looking for blooms LOL the other 2 are still groggy and not even wanting to move when he and I go. He is always out there with me in the evenings when I water.... I just cant stand to go out in the heat of the day..... once school starts I'll be able to get more done around here I'm sure... the house will probably be spotless, my 3 yr old starts preschool, so I'll be home all for the first time since 1996 :) Not quite sure how I'm gonna handle it. I keep hinting to DH its time for another, but he says no :(

Oh well, the last thing I need is another baby... I'll just go borrow one of my sis's twins when I get the urge. They are 7 months

Janis - enjoy your time alone, working on something cool! Try one of the Tufa projects you see, the mosaic birdbath, lots of other options. This is a pretty safe neighborhood here, but...

Let's see - I found a snake (garter?) in the back on the tomato cage holding the blackberries up...

There was store in pittsburgh that had a rabid cat go in and bite 3-4 people... couple nights later, some peo went by here asking if I had seen a raccoon acting "funny" - they had and were trying to find out where it had gone...

The girl 2 doors down runs the streets, more like 10 going on 20, it's looking for trouble to let mine out like that!

Don't have a fence up around our backyard yet... would like to, just hasn't happened due to expense and effort required!

Borrow both the twins, and give your sister a break! You get the baby, she gets a little free time, your hubby gets off the hook for another... Sounds like a win-win-win to me! Oh, to not have to work, that sounds like a winner to me too!! ~ Suzi ♥

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

LOL I did that one day, watched both the twins for her..... my 6 year old, Sarah, kept saying when is Aunt Jennee coming to get the babies??? She was just all sorts of upset that they were here. Not sure why, maybe its because they took SO much of my attention.

I became a SAHM when Tori was born, she had problems from birth on.... apnea spells as an infant, unexplained fevers over 105, reflux.... I was too afraid to leave her. When her and Sarahs biological father left us in 99, I went back to work but when Jeff (now DH) and I got together, he wanted me to be able to stay home with them. It was tough for a while, but got a bit easier whenTori started to get SSI. Then when she started all her therapies and stuff, it would have been impossible for me to go back, I owuld have never found work that allowed me to get her back and forth, and no babysitter I could afford would drive her 40 minutes 1 way 2-3 times a week. I was also pregnant with the lttle one at the tie, and I'm high risk, so even if I could have found a way to get her back and forth, I wouldn't have been allowed LOL Now that she is out of the hospital, and better I thought about going back to school when little Jeff starts, but now that we know that Tori's condition is genetic and at least one of the other kids have it, and both the boys need tested, it seems silly for me to even think about it. I'm probably looking at 1, possibly 2 , and aremote chance of 3 kids having brain and skull surgery in the next year or so. I should have had the boys tested already but after all the problems with tori, I had to step back and let life be as normal as possible for a while.

Wow, that was a novel LOL

yikes!!! I'm siding w/ your DH too about no more. I couldn't go through that more than once! I'm glad you get to stay home with them, because they need you!! ~ Suzi ♥

Woofens,

I just look at it as a clean house is a sign of one who doesn't garden? Couldn't think of anything. This maid quit years ago.

DH would love a clean house but doesn't pick up after himself. I am ashamed at times alot of times. But evidently not enough to do anything about it, because here I sit.

I also agree with DH. Enjoy those little ones now as they grow up too fast.
My DGDs ar going to be 5 an 3 in october. Time seems to fly.

Love and blessings to all,
Sandy

Well, I have to admit, I switched laundry, and ran the sweeper in the living room. Bribery is amazing. I have to go to the store to get something for dinner, and told them they could pick something if they picked up the stuff the sweeper wouldn't. The living room looks pretty good, except for the mountain of laundry (but it IS clean!!)

We ought to post before and after pics LOL I'm kidding. A few months ago, I told a friend of mine that my house was so bad, and that I would die of embarassment if my grandmother stopped by, but that the chances of that were slim, cause she is 82, and doesn't drive by herself that often and my steps are really hard on her. Lo and behold, the NEXT day, she was knocking on my door, she and my uncle decided to drive over. If the kids hadn't answered the door, I think I would have hidden. It was that bad. I have tried to keep the kitchen at least picked enough that I can cook, but with the drain situation, that has become a lost cause :(

Oh well, off to the store then to tackle the dining room :)

Hugs to you all
Janis

ha ha ha!! isn't that the way it always goes?! You got me laughing, which isn't too easy today!

My step mother was coming to visit in June, so I met step bro, friend and her about an hour away. After dinner, the boys left. We stayed that night in a hotel. Next day went to an animal park and then up to Niagara falls and saw it at night. Stayed there, saw the falls in daytime then I took her home, then came home that night. So, we all had a little vacation and she didn't see the house.

Right now, it is even worse... With my back acting up, it doesn't appear it will change in the very near future. Heck, watering the garden w/ hose wiped me out.

Congrats on some cleaning up! Isn't bribery wonderful?! When it works, that is! ~ Suzi ♥

I know what back problems are like and I pity you :( I have to be so darn careful now since I had a car wreck in 95, it is awful somedays. Add my knees to that (my darling now 8 yo, at the time 6 yo,) ran into me with a car, trapping my knees between my bumber and the bumper of the car behind me LOLIf I sit curled up on the couch, I can't get up..... not fun at all when I"m home and DH is at work, and I have to roll off the couch to the floor to straighten up. Its no wonder my kids don't have friends over lmao

Well, at least you got the watering done. Be careful.... you don't want to make it worse.

OUCH!!! So sorry! These back pains are much different / worse than what I have had tons of, since hurt it in 75...

Hey, I didn't think this out clearly (must be the meds!) but I think I - we - have a great reason to have a messy abode... Girls, come back from Dad's and clean!! Yea right, don't hold your breath Mom!!

Doc told me on ph this AM, I have to go see her tomorrow, she's got some back exercises, etc for me!! Thankfully she called in 3 RX that seem to helping some. Can't believe they haven't conked me out yet... ~ Suzi ♥

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

The kind that conk you out are good sometimes, not so good others... be careful taking them home alone :)

You have the PERFECT excuse for a messy house, kids not home, back out... Maybe you'll get lucky and get a good looking PT like I had a while back, when I herniated a disc! He made me suffer but at least I had something to think about LOL
