Well the garden shop I always visited in Pigeon Forge, TN is out of business...so I couldn't get any plants while on vacation :( So I ended up buying a few today. A few fruits and a perennial. I'm looking forward to the raspberries and strawberries :) Yum!
Now I just need to find some time to plant them! Hopefully tomorrow. It's been blowing wind about 40 mph all day long today...and 40 degrees...and rain! Nasty day!
I still need to go buy some annuals. I never did annuals in the past, but this year I'm going to plant a bunch. I want more color...longer. I need to fill in some bare spots anyway.
Finally bought a few plants
OK, I'm jealous!
I want to try and start some raspberries this year too!
I have one Cottage Pinks in my yard - its small (a gift from my mom last year), but it made it through the winter here (5b) and is showing new growth.
Happy Planting!!!!!!! -Christie
I love the spicy-sweet smell of dianthus varieties - yum! We're going to get annuals this year, too, Jon. Our garden is great in June, but then it kind of poops out until a few fall bloomers show off later in the season. I might grow impatiens from seed in a few spots, as well as alyssum - love both of them.
so have you and the lil guy started planting them?
yummmmmmy he is going to love eating them berries!
hczone 6 your new berries sound delicious. I planted 3 Kiwi Gold everbearing raspberries a week or so ago. I have a clump of Fall Gold raspberries , they taste really good but tend to crumble badly. I'm hoping these new ones will be better. Good luck with your new ones. DonnaS
