Not only do we have the Garden Watchdog which has more than 4,000 vendors listed and a Top 30 list, which is by and large highly regarded - and now there's PlantScout so if you know what plant you're looking for you can go straight to the source ;o)

Pawny, try this one for peppers and maters, it's in my state, and it's nearby and new to me. It will be my first time exploring it this year in person, strickly what I grow, though. Good Luck and enjoy.

As far as personal favorites, I'd have to say my personal top picks are JL Hudson, Forestfarm, ArborVillage, Fantastic Plants, Greer Gardens, Digging Dog, Bluestone Perennials, Marianna's Pomodori (tomato seeds) and Tomato Growers' Supply.

Out of those, the first three have catalogs that are mainly print, with a few line drawings; Greer has some photos, but it's not a real "slick" magazine-style catalog. Digging Dog's site has no pictures, Marianna's catalog is on newsprint. Forestfarm has photos on its site - but the bottom line is I don't judge a book (or mailorder vendor) by its cover or lack of images ;o)

If you like and/or need more visual help in choosing plants, then Bluestone's site and catalog are a good starting point ;o)
