Seedlings from last year.....

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I'm anxious to see some of those seedlings from last year bloom again. Feel free to add your seedling pictures.
This is a GL X LA seedling. I liked it because it bloomed well and seemed to always have flowers from white to peach on it. I'll grow it in a pot this year and be able to enjoy it more near the deck.

I really like this one Shirley. I think it is so pretty with the different shades of color. Did you have it in full sun last year or did it get some shade in the afternoon. How about wilting in the heat? I will see if I can quickly find some seedlings from last year and post them. I also am also anxious to see how they will do this year.

Ashton, IL(Zone 5a)

I like it too! Was it fragrant?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Eileen, I was so tickled with the color on it that I don't remember sticking my nose in it. I'm sure it had fragrance.

Frannie, I think this was one of two or three that I really liked. It was in full sun and I mean really full sun. No shade until maybe 6 PM. I never saw it wilt at all, but remember, we had a great summer last year. Not a lot of horrible weather and my seedlings bloomed late. This is why I'm so anxious to see the ones I kept, bloom in the real summer days. 95 in the shade type days. We couldn't be so lucky as to have another summer like last year. However, remember the wind storms we had? I don't care to have those again.

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

Whoa! Very nice!

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

This is a CS cross from last year. I'm hoping it will stay white this year and drop the skirt a little further.
I composted the one in the background as it looked too much like it's mother.

CS? Where's that list when I need it! She's gorgeous Terrie!

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

I can't wait to see if Meadow Rose a Monika seedling will bloom even darker this year.

Sorry Julie. It's Creamsickle.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Meadow Rose is awesome. So is the Creamsickle cross. I think that is the first double I've seen a picture of from Creamsickle.

I don't have any seedling pictures to share as this will be my first year with seedlings. Thanks for starting this Shirley and yours look so beautiful. I like it when they bloom and the different shades & colors of the blooms show on one.
Seeing both of your pictures gets the heart a racing in Anticipation!!

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

SHirley I had several seedlings and many came out huge and full of stuffed skirts. I counted 5 in one I tore apart. This is the only one that I kept.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

It is hard for me to grow the seedlings more than one year because I grow so many, so I have to just take a chance that I'm holding over the right ones. If they don't do well the second year then they are gone. Thanks Kin. I hope our summer this year will have lots of great surprised from all the new seedlings.

I hope this one pans out for you Terry.

I forgot to mention that the seedling above was from one of Kell's crosses. I have a lot of her seedlings growing again this year. I've got to quit growing so much. When I have to have my supplies delivered by a semi, like this morning, it is time to cut back. Aberdeen Express brought me my fertilizer and a bunch of really heavy pots from AM Leonard. I've also forgot to mention to those of you looking for the CalMag fertilizer that even tho it doesn't say so on the site....what AM Leonard sells is Peters CalMag.

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

Duh! I can't believe I didn't know that one! lol brain blurp!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Julie, I had to stop and think for a while. There are so many that it is really hard anymore. It's fun to read about your brain blurps though. LOL!

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

Brugie those are all lovely, wanted to tell you that just about all the seeds of MM, and MM X have germanated, looking good.

Doris

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

That's great Doris. I hope they continue to be healthy and bloom beautiful.

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

LOL!

Also, I have 6 up germinated and growing 2nd set of leaves from the LA x MM too Shirley! I'll update you again soon :)

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Oh I love to see the seedlings! They are both just beautiful! They have wonderful shapes, and Shirley... I LOVE that peach color on your picture!
Here is one that came from Susie... "All pink crosses" I will keep her this year, but she looks like so many others, she Yd at about 4 feet, and the flowers were quite small. And she smelled like red licorice.. which I loved.

Meadow Rose - I believe she might be my all time favorite!!!!

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

The pictures are beautiful.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

I love the possibilities that seedlings have, and these are just gorgeous.
I see more clearly why it's important to "compost" the weaker ones.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Thanks Shelly. I love growing brugs from seed. Love the element of surprise. I really had very few last year that wouldn't have made me happy.

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

I have lots of seedlings none with flowers yet. My poor little green hut is stuffed full, I can't wait much longer to get stuff out of there, all is growing so big. I have to remove the ones in my walkway to get to the back & water!
Let's all hope for an early spring!

BJ ,

I wish we could all see your yard this summer.

It's going to be so beautiful.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Scoot they are both beautiful. It's a toss up which one I like the best.

Lewiston, CA(Zone 7b)

C'mon out Scoot!
I'm on our Garden Tour this year, I hope I have all my projects done by May 21st! Too bad it's so early, I don't think any Brugs will be blooming then.
This is my first year being on the tour & I'm having nightmares already!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Gee Shirley I had totally forgotten about that one. I do love the 2 color combo.

Gosh Shelley, your sky is too die for in that picture. Just amazing. Esp since ours lately is so grey.

Scoot, your first pic there is so great. My favorite shape. And look at those aurea leaves. Just huge. Great seedlings.

Oh WOW BJ, your yard is so beautiful to be on a garden tour? How cool is that?

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

One of my favorites from last summer......a cross of Susie's. It was is a very large bloom and I am anxious to see how it does this summer.

An unusual looking one as far a color goes.........another of Susie's.

This seedling got hugh........over eight feet by end of summer.

This one bloomed profusely but had little fragrance and no uniqueness and therefore discarded.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

thay are all beautiful and look promising. Sorry one of yours turned out to be a dud Franny. Sure looked beautiful though with all those blooms

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

BJ, can't you just imagine the blooms you are going to have from those brugs this summer. You are going to be in heaven.

Frannie and Scooter, your pictures are gorgeous.

That huge flush of pink blooms is very pretty, but I know what you mean about tossing because of no uniqueness. I know I have one of your cuttings for a pink, but I can't remember which one it is, Frannie.

Scooter, I'm still thinking yellow. My yard needs yellow really bad.

One of my own crosses that I held over is the one I'm calling Pumpkin or Punkin for now. I love the color on it.

Thumbnail by Brugie
Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

Brugie, I love Punkin, or pumpkin. I like the dark oranges.
Frannie, that pink big one that was one of Suzie's crosses is beautiful!
