I need suggestions for a large flowering plant (need 2 of them) for the front beds at my sister's house in Kissimmee, zone 8b? I had thought 2 bougainvillea about 4' tall, but the beds are in the shade (north side). Needs to bloom from now until mid June, at least, and hopefully the house will be sold by then. We need them this week, so suggestions of a nursery within 50-100 miles to get something would be helpful, too. We need to make a run up to Gainesville to see an aunt who is 92, so nurseries in that direction please.
House is sort of a pale yellow, and we bought some pink alamanda and mandevilla today.
Need Florida suggestions, ASAP
No one's helping you, dear lady..... I can't help out with the nursery part, but here are a few plant suggestions:
Lantana (bush type, not the creeping kind)
Roses
Hydrangea
Variegated weigelia (foliage is better than the flowers in my opinion)
Lavender
Salvia (group a couple if need be)
Gosh, I thought I had posted to this 2 days ago... We bought several variegated scheffs, some alamanda (white and pink) and a bunch of bottle bush.
The mandeville we have already planted, hoping they will climb the porch posts. The other shrubs were to go in today but it rained all day.
I really think we are okay with what we have found, but Thanks for the suggestions!
