Help with hubby

Modi'in, Israel

What about an Opuntia microdasys var. pallida with vivid yellow polka dots http://davesgarden.com/pf/showimage/55558/ ? And here's a really cute purplish one with heart shaped paddles! http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/73876/index.html Sure, they'd get big eventually, but if you got a baby one you'd have time before it needed to go live outdoors.

Also Aeoniums http://davesgarden.com/pf/search.php?search_text=aeonium can be more "macho" and if you get one like "Schwartzkopf" http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/1930/index.html the burgundy color gets away from the "same old green".

I have seen the Schwartzkopf online and it is beautiful. I have been wanting one of those for a long time. I am hoping to find one at one of our garden centers. If I don't find one then I guess I will order one online. The only place to shop for cacti and succulents around here is Home Depot, Lowe's or Walmart. So my choices are very limited.

OMG! You will not guess who I caught reading the DG forums this morning. Yes, it was dear hubby. I was in shock. He is coming around and I am hoping the plant bug will bite him like it bit me. He even looked at the hibiscus co-op and I asked him to pick out the ones he likes. So I guess I will probably be buying some of them. I put a giant philodendron on his desk, one of the lacy edge ones. I told him it was because his desk is right in front of a window and that it would get sun there. He did not fight me at all. So things are beginning to look up here concerning hubby and plants. Thank you all so much for all of your suggestions. They have really helped.
