Jon, you and Howie will get along just fine -- he's more a people watcher, too. But he is definitely ornery.
Who is near Cincinnati, Ohio?? Can you say Round Up??
I might just have to find the time to come to this little get-together...lol Sounding more and more fun by the minute. We'll see. I still don't know if something for work will come up that will have me out of town or whatever. I know they're talking about moving the Cleveland office (AGAIN) and I'll have to go for that. Not sure when it is. Anyway...I'm thinking hard about coming :)
Gosh, you just got your current office organized, didn't you? ;)
Well, I'm in Irving, TX right now moving people out of one office and into another. It's all about leases and when they expire. The company moves people around quite a bit sometimes if there's lease issues. Our company was bought by a larger company a couple years ago and so we had a bunch of duplicate office space in several cities. The goal is/was to move these people into ONE office and get rid of the other one (if there were 2 offices in the same city). There's still a few situations like that and that's part of what sends me traveling. It's fun to get out sometimes though. I bet I'll be gone at least a few more times this year. I just hope when I get back THIS time, my new Sigma 70-300mm lens is waiting for me! I can't wait to start taking pics with it :)
No doubt, you're going to enjoy that new lens.
Boy did I miss a bunch last night!!
Tabasco HAHAHAHA!! You might want to add the words - angry - in there! I was so mad my entire first 3 months of pregnancy! Yea, it's funny NOW I suppose! Luckily people don't generally try to pat your belly early on - they might have lost a finger! LOL!
Badseed I really hate I can't come up there and meet you!!! Next year we need to coordinate your round up with the Southern one so I can go to both! LOL! Maybe I could just alternate years if folks don't want to move the entire roundup around ME! LOL!!!!!
Nicole
Maybe today I'll take some pics of the Steamboat Cove Camping area...although these winter time pics don't really do the park justice...It will be much prettier in April...
This is the Frisbee Golf Course First Tee...It's actually a very pretty course, going up and down ravines and thru the woods...
I've been there before...it IS pretty :) I think they were having a dog agility contest out on the lawn one time when I was there. Been awhile.
Hi, again, Badseed--
was just out looking at my garden today planning for spring--wondered what you thought might be coming up on the Swap....
Will have some daylilies and hollyhocks to trade--maybe some peonies and hostas...do you think anybody would be interested in them...since I'm a newbie I am totally ignorant about what would be good to offer...
mmm....
Here's a picture of the hollyhocks...
So what are the dates?
Kathy, are you coming???? It is the weekend of April 23rd. Check the RU thread. I would love to meet you!
Count me in. I love Woodland Mound Park. One Question... How come Tabasco doesnt know where Louisville is?
Badseed, I will check it out and see if I can swing it :)
I was really hoping to make it, but right now it looks like my daughter will be running in an invitational track meet that Saturday. If anything changes, we will try to make it, though.
Deb
Actually I do know where Louisville is. I used to live there when I was just a young thing. lol
I'm in Louisville all the time :) We sell at a farmers' market there and do our CSA distribution there. Can someone send me the DG link to the RU? I looked but I'm not sure where OH is considered, in the scheme of things LOL. Thanks. Kathy
Oh and is this going to be a one day event or overnight?......any of the particulars would be exceptionally helpful to me. ty
Hey Jenbrink, it is very nice to meet you! Welcome to DG!
I have to laugh at you Kathy. I always think of KY as spitting distance. I forget how far that state goes. LOL I guess the link will get you where you need to go. We are in Cincinnati!!
Awww, momcat, I was especially hoping to meet you! Maybe the meet will get moved. :)
Oh, great! it sounds like we're going to have a good crowd. All the links are up on the RU Forum now--and we even have some sign ups on the Head Count! And I just put the thread up about 20 minutes ago!

How many DGers do you think will come? Should we start a 'pool'?
GW --my RU threads are up!! Volunteers and Headcount and I put up a GOOD EATS thread for Hugahosta. Thanks a million (again). t.
Here's the info page: http://gardenwife.com/cincy2005 There are quick links to the various threads in the Roundup forum. gardenwife.com/cincy2005/ - hope that's easy to remember!
Tabasco: Sorry, I'm sure you all know each other well. I didnt know you were joking about Louisville. : )
no! jenbrink, we don't really know each other well so don't be sorry!--I'm a newbie on DG so I'm looking forward to meeting you and everybody else at the RU! You are coming, aren't you?! I think the DGers (expecially everybody who is helping out on the RU) are great and will be fun to know better.
And also, I just moved to Cincy this past year (from LA) , so I don't know anybody here in town, either, so I'll be doubley glad to meet you! And don't forget to sign up on the Head Count thread. ;-)
have a great day! tabasco (judy)
Hey jenbrink, I have never seen that woman(tabasco) before in my life! LOL I think she steers clear so she doesn't get stuck babysitting six kids. :) :) :) Matter of fact, the only person on this whole post that I have actually seen in person is Gardenwife. Hmmm, why is that? Oh wait, I lied. I spent a few nights at the home of TNmom and Mystic is my best gardening bud. Other than those people, I have never met the others. I hope I will soon though!
That is why this is going to be such fun! Seriously, she only lives about ten minutes from me and we haven't even met!
I live in Mt. Washington by the way. Where are you?
Shoot, we even bought Badseed's conversion van when her family outgrew it. And no, we are NOT ready for your Suburban, Michele! ;)
I am sure I do not know what you mean! :) HOWIE!!!
Wow, Six Kids!! You're a busy person Badseed!!!
I live in Rossmoyne, which is between Blue Ash and Deer Park.
Downtown Rossmoyne IS the poney keg ! : )
That should tell you how big our town is.
Tabasco: Welcome to Cincy!!
I received this email this week from my brother, it is too large to post in here, so I made a link.
It is for all us Cincinnati people. I found most of it to be true!!
http://sbceilings.us/cincy.html
Jen, I just wrote back to you. You are going to laugh hard when you read that mail. :)
OMG! That link is hysterical (and true!). LOL
: )
We have goetta in the cafeteria on Tuesday mornings at work :)
HA. That's funny. I love goetta. Most people have no clue what it is.
Well, bein from da udder side of Louahvul, I thought I'da make a few comments here....
Seems to me that Cincinnati and Kintucky people are bout the same kinda people. The only thing I'd change is that it's cheaper for us to fly out of Cincinnati than it is Louahvul, but I never make the trip, but I've been to Cin. airport (really in Covington,KY) and it is a nice airport!
Got a big kick out of this jenbrink. Funny because most is true. ha, ha. When I recently went to Massachusetts, I mentioned how I love Larry the Cable Guy. They all said he was stupid and ridiculous. I thought about that, why when I thought he was so funny, they didn't? It occured to me I could relate to him and they couldn't. LOL
Happy Day, Kathy
Misty Meadows: I have to confess, I didn't know who Larry was so I had to look him up. This is why I don't know, I don't have cable!! (i know hard to believe nowadays)
But one of my favorites is "The Red Green Show", I'm guessing it is similar.
OMG I love Larry the Cable Guy! I laugh so hard when I hear him!! Kathy, you HAVE to come to the RU. Apparently we have the same cruddy sense of humor. LOL One of the funniest for me has to be the one on "eatin' britches"!
We all LOVE goetta. Vic makes it from scratch! Speaking of, I think I better start riding her buns to see if she is coming or not.
For the rest of you, maybe wondering about the email between jenbrink and I...we just found out we graduated from the high school, five years apart. How is that for a small world?!?!
What is goetta?
And how come you haven't mentioned Gilbert Gnarly? Isn't 'he' from Cincinnati? I love Gilbert Gnarly.
NOH20: A definite sign you are not from Cincy if you don't know what Goetta is. It's a German dish created in Cincy in late 1800 (at least that is what they say)

I found a link with the recipe from Hamilton County:
