My Site Question

Simpsonville, SC(Zone 7b)

My Christmas present to myself was an internet site, have been working on it all week (don't know what I am doing, but learning)) and still have a long way to go. I plan to use it with my hobby/business of gardening. I have seen a lot of links in the D/G forums posted to other sites, my question is, can I post a link to this site on D/G to find out what fokes think of it?

Thanks
George

You definitely can post a permanent link to it from your DG homepage - here's some basic help: http://davesgarden.com/faq/home/#39

As long as posting your site is not intended to generate business opportunities for you, you're welcome to post it for critique and feedback.

George, just be certain to include the "http://" preceding your website's URL. If you don't, the link will just refer back to your DG member page. In my case, without that, my link points to "http://davesgarden.com/members/gardenwife/gardenwife.com", which just plunks you right back on my DG member page.

This clarification should be added to the FAQ. Better yet, Dave, can this bug just be fixed? It's been there for so long, and many don't realize their links don't work unless someone notices and lets them know. Couldn't the page have an if/then to add the "http://" if the user enters a URL without it?

I agree, Kimberley. I get tired sometimes of copying the link location and then pasting it to a new browser window to get to the site they were intending. Would be nice of the DG software just "knew" what the member meant to do.

Okay, thanks GW. Now I understand what was happening the other day. I wanted to look at someone's link they had posted of brug pictures and I just kept getting their member page back.
