Leather leaf viburnum

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

It's a evergreen in my zone 6,after several hard freezes already,it's still in the bud stage, flower stage and fruit stage.

That's kinda odd. Will it harm flower and fruit production next year? Oh, and does this kind bear edible fruit?

I wish I could answer that question, this is the 3rd year since I planted this shrub,it flowered a little last year, but no fruit, this is the first year for fruit, birds like the fruit, but I think they are poison to humans. This plant has flowered from spring and is still flowering, had a big flush late spring, but has been spareingly flowering all summer,I have it on the north side of my house, gets only morning sun. Nice big leather like appearance leaves,is over 10ft now, great plant, highly recommend it.

I have American Cranberry... I'm not sure which viburnum that is exactly. I'm glad to hear that the birds like the berries, that's why I planted it :)

I notice also my red berries on all my hollies are starting to disappear since the weather has turned colder, already the blue berries from my virgina creepers are all gone, same with the porcelin vine.
My leather holly should bloom anytime after Xmas, then it will have dark blue berries,in Febrauary and March,Robins love these berries.

Lol, you should see them going after the bittersweet vine berries! Great for them but alot of seedlings I have to look for next spring.

I bet you won't have to look very hard!!!LOL!
Saw a big red male cardinal in my trumhet vine this morning,12* outside ,with howling north winds, brutal outside,he looked as thought he was all fluffed out, easy to spot no leaves were left on the vine,I wonder if they fluff up to stay warm?

I have had my leatherleaf viburnum for about 8 years. It is all the way up to the roottop of my house. It is a very nice shrub. I will be moving in three years and would like to propagate this somehow and take a piece with me. Do you know how I can do that? It is kind of hard to find in the nurseries.

I wish I knew, never have been sucessful with evergreens, might try the propagation forum.
