Your Pet and Christmas Picture Contest!!

Moscow, TN(Zone 7a)

Oh my goodness, the pictures are all so cute. Franklin is just precious, as is Leia, and Miss Priss.
Buddy is a fine looking Santa, I am loving the ponies. When this contest started I never thought about horses but they are beautiful.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

And look who is talking.....your dogs are too adorable, Loretta! I can't believe how they pose for you! They must know they are all that. LOL BTW, your tree is a beauty too!

Leesville, SC(Zone 8a)

Thanks for the kind words everybody.

Kell - Leia is an American Eskimo Dog (they used to be called Eskimo Spitz, but that's not politically correct anymore - LOL) - a little smaller than a Sammy, and as you can see, a real hambone.

All of these pictures are too cute - I can't believe you guys get your babies to wear hats and such - Leia says no way will she do that. Franklin is too cute Debi. Moonlightings kitty takes it though - I don't know how you got your cat to wear that without scratching you to death!!

Rhonda

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Such good pictures, from everyone. I used to have a "Spitz" when I was a kid. Happy was her name and we loved her so much. I remember her getting a good hair cut every summer. Memories!! This contest is going to be a tough one to vote a winner in. Such cute pictures. The lizard, or whatever it is, I guess it's mommy/daddy love it too, but I'm not a reptile person. LOL! Sure would be an easy subject to keep the hat on though. LOL! Again, great pictures from everyone!

Moscow, TN(Zone 7a)

A lizard....I must have missed that one. Have to go back and check it out. lol
Rhonda-My pomerian, Elvis, is in the same family as your Leia. He loves the cold weather.
Thanks Kell, they do like to pose. They should be in advertising. lol Here is a picture taken today. Jake and Tasha have a special freindship. She makes sure the other dogs do not mess with him.

When I looked at Elvis' Christmas picture, I didn't realize he was a Pom - LOL -They are really great pictures and they are certainly posing for you today. It's great that they all get along so well - you obviously take very good care of them!

Moscow, TN(Zone 7a)

Thanks, they do get along really well. Elvis is a sable pom and from what I understand there are not too many of them. He is bigger than many poms I have seen at 8.5# but his sister, my sister has her, is only 3.5#. I would love to breed him but he does not have papers. Leia is'nt spoiled is she. HAHAHA. A secret on getting them to wear hats, elastic. It usually holds them on long enough to get pictures.

Mukwonago, WI(Zone 5a)

Everybody's pictures are just adorable! How you all got your darling pets to pose for all those great shots is beyond my photographic ability. I had a devil of a time trying to snap just ONE picture of 'Pudgie' for this year's Family Christmas album. No matter what I tried....he just wouldn't 'smile'....can you tell? And Now....the 'antlers' are no where to be found. I wouldn't be surprised if he had something to do with that???
Happy Holidays to Everyone here at Daves

HAHAHA....if looks could kill we would all be history. He probably flushed the antlers down the toilet You really need to put a a caption with that one like, "The first one to so much as crack a smile gets a special present from Pudgie in their shoe."

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

Love it.
.............. Poor Pudgie Santa,, hahahaha .
Arnold says he can stay here if he wants . No garment abuse here , free choice food and Arnold will teach him the ways of a Barn Hunter . When Pudge buffs up from lifting himself up the rafters and hay wagons and looks like a manly-man ..... no one will mess with him again , so Arnold says ..... lol

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Oh dear, Renee, Pudgie is huge!! And look at all that fur. I love him. I want him.

Loretta, your family is so diverse and so good looking! And also so well behaved. Do you let them all sleep in your bed?

Rhonda, a roommate of mine years ago had a Samoyed. Such a pretty dog. Yours has the same look. Does yours mind the weather in SC? Poor Minka suffered so in the hot weather in California. Poor thing used to pant! A mini Samoyed would be so adorable.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3a)

Oh that kitty is MAD! Loretta your kids sit so nice for you. What a nice little doggie family. Joelle

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Renee, that is just precious. LOL

Leesville, SC(Zone 8a)

Hi Kell:

Eskie's do love the cold weather - summers are pretty hot here, but she loves the water and we have her a little swimming pool that she cools off in. We live on the lake and really have to watch her because she would go swimming all the time if we would let her. She is just the best natured little thing though and really "entertains" us.

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

LOLOL Renee! He just looks SO mad! He is a big boy! I love it!

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Renee ... I love it!! Pudgie is too cool!!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Pudgie is such a sweetie in person. He isn't a grump like his picture shows. I'd take him in a second.

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

Ditto, A big fluffy fur ball that loves to be petted.

bronson, IA(Zone 4a)

Renee--love your pic of your killer kitty--I couldnt stop laughing--great pic!!!

This is my Grandpuppy, Haylee Anastasia dressed up for Christmas. She is going to be a momma the end of January. Bonnie

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Oh Bonnie, she is my kind of dog. Just love her little outfit. LOL! I know I'm going to have a horrible time choosing one to vote on. They are all sooooo good.

Moscow, TN(Zone 7a)

Haylee is a little cutie! Is she a Shiz Tzu? That's what Merlin is and they are the sweetest breed. This pictures keep getting better and better. It is going to be tough just picking one.

Kell, they do sleep with us except for Jake. Talk about bedhogs! We have a kingsize bed but they all want to sleep on my side. lol

Oh my goodness this thread makes me laugh so...First, Shadowgirl, what a lovely fur baby family you have, and that photgraph looks like it was professionally done. Great job. They are all gorgeous!.

Renee...Pudgie is the splittin' image of Mr. Grinch!! Really...compare pictures! Too cute. I knew it was going to be difficult to choose the best photo from all these beautiful fur babies, but as soon as I saw Pudgie, my mind was made up. Good Luck, Pudgie!

Ladyblue62, I wish I would have looked nearly as good as Haylee Anastasia, when I was only one month from my due date!

Adrian, MI(Zone 5b)

Thanks Bruggie and Shadowgirl. Yes she is a Shiz Tzu. She's two and she's my one and only grandbaby. Some grandmas have to settle for what they get! Ha!!My daughter helped me put her picture on the forum. I don't know why it enlarges so big, but at least you can see her.
She looks so much like Merlin, they could be from the same litter,Shadowgirl. Your dogs are all adorable! You have quite an assortment!
Bonnie

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Great pictures.

Loretta, you sound like my sister. She has five and they all sleep with her and DH. If I'd take my six to the bedroom and start loading them into bed, my Dh would run me off. LOL They have their own beds and special spots they want to sleep in. I think my Yorkie would be the only one who would want to sleep in our bed.

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

Heres Precious Princess, she is 3 1/2, and this is her first christmas with us.

She is not to thrilled with her hat. If she would not have torn it off her stuffed christmas dog. She wouldn't have had to wear it. DH is holding on to her. She looks scared stiff.

I call her my little lump of coal because she is black and moved in around the holidays.
My Daddy always said I was going to get a lump of coal for Christmas. And bless his heart he died 19 years ago and did not live to see me get one. If I knew they were this much fun he could have gotten me a lump of coal years ago.

Once she is house broken she will be a beautiful diamond. We already are nuts about her.

Here she is posing for all of you.

Wishing all a Very Happy New Year.

I have to put in a picture of Linky, He is 14 1/2 years old.
He is laying with Precious Princess' Christmas toys.

The hair on his face is as white as Santas and we didn't have to use bleach.

Ain't he cute? We have had him since he was 2 years old and he was really badly abused. I call him the Man of my Dreams.
He was Vienna's buddy. But she was boss.

oh precious you are a hoot. i was laughing so hard. great picture and franklin would definately agree with your bah hum bug attitude and hats. LOL
Leia is so white, just like the snow. was her color bred into them for a reason?
haylee is a beautiful grandbaby. is this breed good with children?
precious princess and linky are both so cute. they have such long noses compared to my franklin. but then most dogs do. LOL linky is 14 1/2, wow! that is fantastic. that would be 92 1/2 years in human terms. he's looking really good and the white should be white by that age. ;-)
kell, i grew up with mini poodles and i know that tasha is the protector. LOL they are a hoot. franklin is the same way. he will take on any size doggie and i haven't met one yet that hasn't backed down from my alpha franklin. LOL story....we were at a town fair and there was a young man there with his large dog (something like a bull dog i think) anyway you could see that they were very machismo. anyhoo 11 lb franklin starts to go towards them and i steared him away before the other doggie saw him. the guy caught what i was doing and smiled at me like, yeah good idea don't want my dog to hurt that little thing. my dh and i were laughing because we knew that the guy would have been devistated when little franklin put his doggies tail between his legs. LOL we let him keep the illusion. LOL oh that little franklin has had dogs 5 x's larger than him up on the backs of couches, in there own homes. LOL and i bet you have similar stories about tasha.

Oh my , I had missed that Haylee Anastasia was having puppies. She is such a dear all dressed up in her santa suit. LOL!! Does Baylee love his Haylee?

Sandy, you dogs are so cute. I was going to say poor Linky but he is actually so lucky to have found you.

Loretta, 3 of my 4 cats sleep with me. Sometimes I like animlas so much more than humans! LOL

I have never had a dog but looking at all of these really makes me want to have one of my own.

Castlegar, BC(Zone 6b)

Gosh, Kell, I can't imagine never having a dog! You just gotta try it. Dogs are great.

Adrian, MI(Zone 5b)

Kell, Baylee is so in love with Haylee! She's her mom,her big sister, her best friend, and her protector, although Haylee thinks that she is a lion and is much braver than Baylee. Baylee only wants to be loved and Haylee is independent and stubborn! So Baylee just lets Haylee climb all over her and take everything away from her and Baylee says "That's ok"!
Neighbors go by while Haylee is climbing all over Baylee and slow down, until they see that the little one is playing rough with the big one!! Ha Ha!! Kell, if you ever do adopt a dog, you'll never want to be without one!

We feel very blessed we found Linky. He was mean when we got him. We took him to the vet and he was full of heart worms. The people said to give him back and after they treated him we could have him back.

Needless to say the daughter (around 21) called and and said her mom threw him out in baytown somewhere and not tell her where. As I was not living for Jesus then I had a few names for her mom.

We put an add in the paper and while I was not home a very sweet family brought him 15 miles to a gas station up the road
and my son ask the neighbor to take him to get Linky.

Being an outside dog we tried but could not house break him.
We met a little old man who wanted him and housebreaking did not matter to him. So we decided we would treat him for heart worms and when and if he made it thru the little guy could have him.

He was so sick during treatment, but he made it. We gave him to the guy and he said we could visit when we wanted.
Well, unlike something my husband would do ever, he went
over on his way home from work to visit linky.

He man told my DH there was a during the terrible rain he let his dogs in and Linky p--ped on the floor 3 times. He said he gave Linky to his GD to give him back to us. Go figure?

Anyway we went and got him and was excited to as you couldn't take care of him like we did and not grow attached.
So we had him neutered and he stopped going potty in the house. The vet said he probably associated giving him away
to going potty on the floor so he got 99% housebroken.
She said it had nothing to do with him being nuetered.

We decided that any dog that could end up at our home 3 times deserved to stay. By the way his name was
Dinky? yuck! So it was easy to change it to Linky-sausage.
That is the story of Linky who we tell him "he fell in p--p and came out smelling like a rose". Our sweet Vienna who passed around 6 weeks ago was named Vienna-sausage.

We are so happy he is ours. He still makes us laugh.

He did rupture 5 discs in his neck and back once and could not walk. They put him on prednisone and Remidyl. We would lay on the floor with him and cry. He could not move, just yelp.
We laid hands on him and prayed for his complete healing. we would hold him and just cry and pray. After quite a few weeks he was better. You can not tell he ever had a problem and it was serious. No surgery answered prayer. That was 8 years ago and God gets all the glory. He also loves our animals.

Sorry wrong forum. I just wanted to tell you about our darling Linky.

Moscow, TN(Zone 7a)

Haylee is a doll. We had all the dogs in the truck for a ride today and these people tried to give us a little tiny toy poodle and a St Bernard. We had to take both. My husband loaded us up and got out of there as fast as possible. hahaha All my life I have always had at least one pooch sleeping with me. When my DH and I were engaged he said no dog will ever sleep in my bed. hahahahahaha I just smile and said OK sweetie. Now he grabs at least two of them when he goes to bed and puts them under the cover with them.
Glad to hear Linky got through his trials and troubles and is all right.
And yes sometimes animals are better than people. But they do seem to bring out the best in us.

I love all your babies. They are all too cute for words.

I am sending kisses to all of them. Even ones not listed here.
Love,
Sandy

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

I love them all! It makes me all teary to read about all of them and know how much they're loved! And, I truly do believe that anyone that's ever had and loved a dog can never be complete without one in their lives.

And, Lanny sleeps on my pillow every night. And, I do not "own" her...She own's DH, me and this house, and just allows us to share it with her!

Happy New Year everyone!!!
Gretchen

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Nick is almost 15 so too old for a puppy, it would be too cruel. But I sure am wanting one!!

Everyone pick their favorite picture. I will start a thread tonight to vote on for tomorrow. Or you can email me. Loretta is awarding her beautiful pictures to the first and second place winners or if there is a first place tie.

But in reality, we are all winners to have such incredible animals with whom to share our lives.
