Sick birdhouse gourds

Fulton, MS(Zone 7a)

Hi,
Don't know if this right forum for this, but thought ya'll would know. My gourd's leaves are all turning brown and the blooms are doing the same. The gourds are doing the same. Please any suggestions. Promised grandson his gourds this year. Last time they all died.
Thanks,

Sounds like a type of blight.
I assume they didn't dry out and have been kept watered?

LOL thought I had been watering them too much.

L~ Have you been putting water on the leaves?

Hi....I griow gourds in Florida, zone 9b. I started some of mine way back in January. Those were transplanted in March and have gourds hanging on the vines drying. I have other plants just starting and these look wonderful.
In their life process, after the gourds are set....the leaves and vines do wither and turn brown, then the green gourds start to dry on the vine, they do get "moldy" from the inside to outside drying process. This may take up to 6 months, depending on your weather. It is important NOT to cut the gourds off the vines too soon. If you can, just leave them where they are till gourds are all dried out.
If that is not the case with your plants, they may have fallen victim to fungus or whitefly...both bad enemies of gourd plants.
