What is this in the picture? Is this Bonsi, I have one plant like this one.

(Zone 7a)

It's the Adenium Obesum - Desert Rose :-D

Mirpur (A.K), Pakistan(Zone 9b)

I bought this plant only for 1.5 USD last week. Thanks for the name.

(Zone 7a)

Wow! that was a good price too! They can get really big if you let them. I'm going to keep mine small.

Mirpur (A.K), Pakistan(Zone 9b)

I also want to keep small, I love Bosai plants.

(Zone 7a)

Kaleem, They're very easily grown from seed too. So if yours flowers keep the seeds. My kittens ate all my seedlings. So I was happy to see one already growing...LOL. This time I'll keep them away..LOL

kittens are the main enemy of the plants. As I am new with this plant, Is this a full sun or partial sun plant? Please tell me about this plant.

(Zone 7a)

Ohhh It's definitely a hot weather full sun plant. When germinating the seeds...Lay them flat on good seed starting soil. Barely cover them (very lightly with soil). Provide light and warmth. If the soil is too moist they will rot. If the soil is to dry they wont germinate. It must be just right. However, it is pretty easy though. Look at this pretty! :-D http://davesgarden.com/pdb/showimage/51199/

Wow! What gorgeous blooms on that plant! Can it be grown indoors? I'm zone 5 and I don't think we have tropical weather more than a few days in mid-July.

(Zone 7a)

Definitely can be grown on a windowsill :-D

I got my Adenium seedlings from Phil at Cornell University. He still has them at this link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2352887754 at a very good price. Here is one of mine below which has just bloomed:

Nice!! My Kitties knocked mine upside down...booo hooooo :-(

Brookeville, MD(Zone 7a)

Are these in that grouping of bonsai they always have? They have a bonsai that looks like a adenium but they never have any cottonpickin tags in any of their plants!

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

CaptMicha, I don't think these make good bonsai because there root system eventually becomes quite large to match their eventual size, but initially they don't need much room for their roots. HD usually has them indoors in their houseplant section. I got most of mine here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2352887754, but the one below came from Home Depot.

I remember seeing a while back, some very large bonsai specimens. The plant was over 30 years old! Maybe I saw it on here in the plantfiles.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

This one isn't thirty years old but it's a real beauty! http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/448386/
