Here are the goodies that Rutholive aka Donna sent me. Sorry it took me this long to post the photos.

The first was a package with some goodies for my new dog Aggie. Some doggie treats, a purple stuffed mouse, & a ball. There was also a beautiful Xmas card of a bulldog which happens to be my actual favorite dog breed, I just can't afford one ;(
I also found a beautiful magnatic picture frame & watering can keychain.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Rutholive, I was thrilled & happy with my gifts.

Gemila
P.S. Since I signed Aggie up for the pet Xmas exchange, I let him use the goodies he got & will save yours for Xmas day. Thanks for thinking of him.

I'm sorry if I sounded crass at the time. O_o
I didn't mean to sound rude or insensitive.
I really am laughing at the way it came out.

Your package should be there by tomorrow.
Look for postal carrier with a red box, that has Christmas 'Teddy Bears' on the outside!

I did a real good job of putting my foot in it this time! Oooooh; cow pies! Giggles :^)~

Oh, Laura... It turned out wonderfully! Love the moss and pinecones.

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

thanks, actually thank secludedgardens - there's the talent!! (didn't even burn myself on the glue gun! was smart and got the tweezers out! lol) I just snipped about 1/2" out of the top of some small cones and then some more scales fell off and then they were just the right size. :)

Kooger...love what you did with the card!!! Just this year alone I sent out several cards that came back with no forwarding address. Unfortunately I write a personal note on the cards and then just have to throw them away. If it's okay, I think I will borrow your idea and create a few ornaments to give as gifts. I look at all the pictures on this forum (wish there were more) and couldn't wait to get a close up look. Didn't even realize it was made from my card.

Excellent work!!!

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

Very nice Kaleem! Cute ornaments!

Bonnie - that would be awful to have to pitch them! So, what kind of leaf is the tree? and are the little white flowers baby's breath? and what are the red dots? are they seeds or paper? (Inquiring minds want to know...) So glad you liked my idea, borrow away anytime, that's what we're here for!! The sticks are just round toothpicks. I did some elongated hexagon ones from cards years ago. Started with the pentagon shape because of a mini-manger scene on a card - cut it out and decorated it.

Schwenksville, PA(Zone 6a)

The 'tree' is Mugwort, a wildflower (not sure it's native) that grows along the roadside all over Montgomery County PA. The white flowers are Button Bush when they are in tight bud and the 'red balls' are red Rose petals that have been hole punched.

Here is a sample of another card:

That's gorgeous!

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

That is really pretty! Whodathunk! I didn't think those red dots were paper 'cuz a few chipped off and it didn't feel right. Never would have guessed them to be rose petals tho. How imaginative of you!!

Schwenksville, PA(Zone 6a)

The above card was made with Mugwort, Glossy Abelia, Queen Anne's Lace and Rose.

The following card is made with Mugwort, Delphinium, Rose, Queen Anne's Lace, Hydrangea and Rose of Sharon.

Beauiful! Love it too!

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

They are really pretty - you are so talented! Do you use some kind of preservative on them? I know we used to preserve flowers with good old fashioned hair spray (lacquer!), but don't know what you would be able to use now. It would just kill me have to throw away something gorgeous!

Schwenksville, PA(Zone 6a)

Sequee:

I don't use any type of preservative on them. If you spray with anything it usually creates a shiny halo affect around the plant material that I don't like. If you are a sloppy worker, then the lacquer or preservative will show all your mistakes.

They are really fun to make. On my website I have examples of shoes and lingerie I have made using pressed flowers.

Oh, Jan! I am so sorry it turned out disappointing for you! It was great fun for most of us and I thank you SO much for your hard work!

Happy New Year, dear lady!

Schwenksville, PA(Zone 6a)

Here is a picture of the beautiful watering can that DEBI Z sent me for the ornament exchange. She also sent a beautiful rabbit ornament also in blown glass and a third ornament (which to my embarrassment I can't remember what it was). Our family was going through some medical problems the two weeks before Christmas and to be honest another family member opened the package. I saw the ornaments briefly and then most of my holiday decorations were gathered up and put in the basement by my extended family members before we went to the hospital. I still have not found the other ornaments or I would have posted pictures of them too.

I know I will cherish these ornaments from Debi and Franklin. Again, I apologize for taking so long to post a thank you to Debi. Happy new year to everyone.

Hi, I'm new to DG. I was reading one of the threads, can't remember which one, but someone was talking about a squadron of soldiers in Iraq (I guess) who wanted penpals. I can find the thread again. They listed a website too. Any suggestions?

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Welcome to DG, silver... have you done a Search on the home page box? Best way to find a thread.

(Zone 5b)

Welcome to Davesgarden silverfluter! I sent you a message.

New York & Terrell, TX(Zone 8b)

Gina (GSkinner),

I think something has happened to 'bilyn' (Linda.)
She never acknowleged getting any ornaments either.

You and I never received any ornaments from her.
If you put in for two exchanges; you have to get two back.

Does anyone have her regular email address?
Can someone contact her and find out how she's doing?

Sometimes in life things get in our way when we least expect them.
