animal christmas exchange thanks post here

Lily received her presents yesterday from Tisha and Paji (veeja3). She got a whole bunch of toy mice, some treats and a bright yellow raincoat!!! We couldn't talk Lily into trying it on, but Lupin suffered through a modelling session (and then wouldn't speak to me for 2 hours...lol). I've taken lots of pictures, but last night was the mad push to wrap presents and get the cards out, so I'll download them tonight and post later. Thanks Tish and Paji!!! Great presents!!!
Christine.

Hi to all,
I am so sorry I didn't post sooner, just to let you know that Seven and Wallace both received their wonderful gifts.
Seven got a comfort bag that you heat in the micro and also some little mice. Thanks so much
Wallace hasn't opened his yet. We put them under the tree but he did get to share some of his cookies with Maggie as one of the bags just happened to open itself when we investigate the box to see what was inside. He smelled the treats and tore into them before I could put them in his stocking. There was several little bags so we still have some that we can put in the stockings. Thanks Debiz for hosting this exchange.

i'm glad to see that msmaati's roxie, ceedub's lily and tombstonejan's sevin and wallice have received there gifts.
jan, i'm glad my little ruse worked in wallice's favor. i figured if he had his head anywhere near that box, that he would nab some treats, before momma even knew what was happening. ;-) i'm glad to hear that he'll have his presents to open on christmas. franklin has a stocking that gets filled by santa and ms. claus, and then he gets presents from us and all his aunti's and uncle's too. he is a very lucky doggie.
i met a woman yesterday that was shopping for her granddogs. isn't that wonderful! i went in to get franklin his most favorite treat in the world, dried chicken breasts and i ended up over in the lawn & garden department buying the cutest windchimes @ 50% savings. i'm putting those aside for spring gifts. well ok and one is for me too. :)
merry christmas everyone.

i wanted to post pictures of the lovely ornaments gemila sent to me and franklin.
i love these felt ornaments. they remind me of one's i used to see as a child. i think i might need some patterns from you. i also saw the others you made, over on the christmas ornament exchange thread. if you'd like to see them, they were sent to tazzy on december 15th. http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/472013/#new

the first is a felt cardinal with sparkles too.

this is franklin's aunti ruthi wearing the penguin hat. we laughed and laughed. she doesn't have a computer, but wishes she could, and knows about dg and my friends here. well we were laughing about how you send someone a picture like this and that is how they get on the internet. she came over the next day and said she would like for me to post it online. "if i can make someone laugh and bring joy to their lives, for just a moment, then i don't care how stupid i look." gotta love her. she is a pet sitter by trade. she takes doggies into her home and watches over them while there mommies and daddies go away. she also goes to homes and takes care of kitties and other animals. franklin loves his aunti ruthi and loves to go to, what i call, camp ruthi with all the other doggies when we go away. i know he is well loved and taken care of there.
debi & franklin and the laughs are from ruth.

I finally got a photo of Horsie with his present (one of them) from his Canadian friend, Lupin...when he saw me with the camera, he got up and left, so there are only two pictures, and they are not the best. The brat is getting tired of the camera....imagine that!

This is my Tortoise, Graham...he wasn't in the exchange, as I couldn't think of a present for someone to send a Tortoise...he is a Leopard Tortoise, and he has to stay inside when it is cooler than 75-80 degrees, but we put him on the patio today, as it is kind of warm, he has a heat rock and an ear of raw corn (his favorite food) and water...he only got to be out for an half hour or so, and then DH took him back inside...

He is just lovely

I had to go out of town veeja3, am stealing time on my SIL's computer - I'll post them tomorrow night, I promise - you'll laugh, she looks so p...d off.

Lupin's very happy that Horsie's begrudgingly having fun with his mousies.

Christine.

I'll be waiting. thankyou carol

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

Christine,
I am sorry that he is not more appreciative of the mice...he is playing with one of them right now, but I don't dare look at him, or he will stop...

Melva, one thing I've found about kitties, is the more you want them to play with something, the less they'll be interested in it. Don't take it personally!! This was all in fun, more for us than them I suspect!!! (We bought our girlies a six foot carpeted tree, when they were about 1-1/2 yrs old. We were so excited about it, and knew they'd have so much fun; we encouraged them, rubbed it with catnip, you name it, we couldn't get them interested. Its rarely been used for anything besides the top shelf is the best place to have a nap.)
Christine.

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

melva, LOL if you look close you can see that aunti ruthi does resemble a human. :) i think its from being with all the doggies all the time.
horsie is a hoot. i know he likes those mices, he's not fooling me. LOL and the nerve of him leaving the photo shoot. doesn't he know we want quality pictures here. LOL ;) i like how the little tail is just sticking out there. horsie is a beauty.
welcome graham. you are a very handsome tortoise. i have a turtle that goes through my driveway garden once a year. traveling to where i have no idea. we have water behind our home, but i've only seen him going in the opposite direction. i think he has been courting some foxy turtle, who lives nearby, and is heading home. he is moving kind of slow. :) franklin is usually the one who locates the turtle every year. poor turtle, just crawls into his shell for a bit. realizes franklin is harmless and then continues on.
merry christmas to all

christine, i can't wait to see lupin in her raingear. :) i bet she is perturbed. LOL that is what you meant by p__d right? ;-)
i've had similar experiences with my cat and toys. couldn't care less. now give him a bent paper clip, plastic ring from a mild bottle or a twist tie and he had fun for hours. oh and one of his all time favorites were the red apples i had on a christmas tree. the bad part about those was the dog would get them and slobber on them and end up with red dye on her mouth and paws. gee i wonder what she was playing with?????
with the tree house, did you try putting strings with things that would move? i've never really seen or paid attention to one, so i don't know if they have toys on them. but it does sound like a really cool toy and a great place to take a nap and survey their kingdom from.
merry christmas & a happy healthy new year to you and yours

i was at michael's last week and met a woman who was buying bear cloths for her cat. her and a friend would dress them out and have photo shoots. LOL she said they were a riot in them. i think the key is to start them with this stuff from the minute you bring them home. then they get used to it. well it is worth a shot anyhow. ;-)
so if anyone is looking for next years xmas outfits, head out to michael's and pick them up now. they are probably 50% off. i just made a lot of kitty cat enemies here today. ;)

i have everyone receiving except:
tombstonejan's maggie
captmicha's daisy & clover
veeja3's elvis & peaches
and tisha & paji
roxroe's monsterkay
and deke

please let me know if this is wrong, who & why?
thank you.
debi & franklin

Debi, although Lily did receive her present and Lupin is enjoying them, Lupin has not received her present.

And so, here's a few of the pictures of The Girlies enjoying Lily's gifts from tisha and paji (veeja3)

First, here's Lupin in the now famous raincoat shot. You'll have to forgive the globe at the right, he was her valet ... lol.

Edited for a typo

Here's Lily playing 'energentically' with another mouse.

Christine,
That has got to be the funniest picture that I have seen in a long time! She looks so annoyed! If I were to do that to Horsie....

And here's the lot of what tish and paji very generously sent to Lily. The Girlies are playing with these mice every day, and they're just loving the treats. I'm sure I'l lbe able to trick one or the other into letting me dress her up again in the raincoat. Lily so far, is steadfastly refusing even to be near it...lol. Thank you again very much veeja3.
Christine.

Oh, I'm sitting here giggling at the memory. She was definitely "purturbed" about the whole thing, but the little darling is so passive, she just sat there letting him dress her, and getting more annoyed all the time. I was clicking away the whole time and this is the best shot of her, and I think shows her true feelings...lol. Too bad the globe got in the way....lol.

Here is one without her valet...

Thanks Melva!! Lupin Pussycat Majorly Unhappy!! I can almost read her mind "And there's a stinking bone on the hat, a BONE - they're dressing me in a DOG costume!"

Poor Lupin.. I feel so bad that Santa's reindeer must be bogged down in US/Canadian mail somewhere. I hope he gets it before Christmas. If not I think Santa is gonna have to get another to send. - Santa Yvonne(SchwartzKatz)

Ok Lilly we are sorry, we outgrew it and it was never worn, so thought you would look cute in it and we were right only sorry you are so mad about it.
we have printed the picture for when we need a good laugh. we love you for outting up with it.

Lupin looks like she's gonna kill somebody! Lol. Too cute! I didn't even know cats will let you dress them up!

Newburgh, IN(Zone 6a)

Lupin reminds me of the little boy in A Christmas Story in the pink bunny suit. "Can I take if off now pleaaasssseee."

MsMaati, there's still five more mail days until Xmas, I won't let her give up yet!!

Also, Tjan's Maggie's parcel from Lily was mailed on Dec 3rd, the same time as Lupin's gift to Horsie. There's no figuring the postal system, especially cross-border - they move at their own pace I guess.

Renton, WA(Zone 7a)

Tisha and Paj are happy, but Elvis and peaches are still waiting, elvis says come on santa

Brookeville, MD(Zone 7a)

Likewise... well.... replace Elvis and Peaches with Daisy and Clover in this message.

Lupin received MsMaati's gift from KC yesterday. Thanks very much!! I took lots of pictures last night but DH was occupied on the 'puter so I couldn't get the disc downloaded from the camera. I'll post tonight. Thanks again!

Newburgh, IN(Zone 6a)

Oh great!. I am so glad you finally got it. I hope your cats enjoy playing with it. :-) Yvonne (K.C. posthumeously)
