Candain round up planning, part 2

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

In answer to Ginny's question, Sunday morning is free & clear for me.

Castlegar, BC(Zone 6b)

Well, I'm Catholic and if there are any others that are as well, maybe we could find a church somewhere. If there isn't anyone else, I am sure the Good Lord will understand if I miss a Sunday. :)

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Or perhaps we'll all take a few hours to do our own thing on Sunday morning, be it church or relaxing with a cup of coffee & the paper, or whatever. Maybe it had better be unstructured time.

I don't know my carrier or arrival time yet, but should have it booked soon.

Edmonton, AB(Zone 3a)

ginny I'm also arriving early morning on friday so if you want to carry a placard at the airport I will drive you to your van - I'll get to know some roads with a navigator that has been there before and see some sights before collecting others from airport

Edmonton, AB(Zone 3a)

leaving monday evening so if butchart is monday should be early - potluck at your place on Friday Linda???

Bryson, QC(Zone 4a)

Thanks, Linda I will let you know once I get a booking for a flight out.

inanda
Church, sure I'll go and attend if others are going/I'am a Christian and as far as what church-doesn't matter God is everywhere anyhow. If not, that's ok too. I'am a really easy going..

As far as the schedual cut me into whatever-Just really greatful to be able to be apart of this gathering.

Ingrid

Castlegar, BC(Zone 6b)

You know, Ingrid is right. If there aren't any other Catholics in our bunch, I would certainly attend any other Christian Church if anyone is going. If not, I'll be seeing Him in all the Gardens we visit. :)

Edmonton, AB(Zone 3a)

Ok does anyone need help with their flight - If you aren't doing on points or whatever, I am still willing to donate some airmiles for anyone on a tight budget.

for instance winnipeg, toronto, ottawa, and montreal are all only 1400 airmiles return on West Jet with their special gold westjet card. this is not many so let me know

Thanks, Ingrid

Bryson, QC(Zone 4a)

Just thought of something for fun.....Who-ever doesn't know me I own and operate a salon and I thought if any of you girls want to get pampered into a new look or whatever. I'am offering to do hair/artifical nails..To do a girls time thing is kind of what I was thinking. JUST an offer, need to know to bring equipment and ect.
Just an idea & offer to anyone.
Best Regards, Ingrid

Castlegar, BC(Zone 6b)

What a generous offer, Ingrid!

I don't know if there is much anyone could do for this old bird! Artifical nails would last for as long as it would take to dig in the dirt when we got home. Seems a bit of a waste. I have never had a pedicure...and it's the only nail polish I wear; on my toes in the summer. But of course, we would have to pay you for your time and effort. Might be fun though! :D

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

I'm sure my DD would be near the front of the line. ;)

Victoria, BC(Zone 8b)

What a great group of people.

For this RU, we have offers of airmiles to help others get to Victoria, offers of hair & nails to make us feel great, offers of accomadation, rides, and the list could go on.

I for one am honoured to be a part of this group. I look forward to meeting all of you that are attending.

Ceedub, we are already missing you from this group. we can only hope that life at home is better and improving for you. You will always be welcome out here.

Echoes, you too, are missed already. At least I may get the chance to meet with you next fall. I'm still working on that for you...

Jeanne, do you want to go to Butcharts with all of before you go home? If so, we should go Sunday morning. If it's not a priority for you, we can leave it for Monday morning.

I just know so many GOOD people. I drive a friend home twice a month frm a mtg we attend, and the other day I talking about getting up on the roof to clean up the moss and replace xmas lights, and how I usually get yelled at for being up on the roof. He offered to come and do it for me. He & his wife were here today, and the roof looks brand new, the gutters are cleaned out, and the work with the lights was done too. Life is good. Now I'm off to make meatloaf.

Are there any vegetarians or vegans in the crowd that will be out for the RU?

And yes, plan for dinner at my house on Friday evening, with the meet & greet. We'll either have munchies, finger food, pizza, potluck, I don't know, but it'll be fulfilling.

Linda in Victoria

Bryson, QC(Zone 4a)

Listen Girls,
What I was offering there is NO money transaction on this..I'am happy to set hair-some are used to having a weekly set and others may want a "new look' or just a trim or maybe colour whatever but it's totally on me.NO CHARGE.....
As for nails-manicure or artifical application can be done sorry no pedicures.

OldFlowerGirl
No ones too old ,and for nails we'll get them sparling again..As far as gardening just dig your nails in a bar of soap acts like plugs dirt doesn't travel up them that easily...

Best regards, Ingrid

Castlegar, BC(Zone 6b)

Linda, what great friends you have to come and do all that work on your roof today. You must be feeling really great right about now. That's good, you deserve it. Your friend must have thought so too, or he wouldn't have offered to do it.

Sigh, I wish I was a Vegetarian or a Vegan, ! would be so much skinnier! But as it is ... Where's the Beef? :D

Thanks Linda for your kind words. I feel very bad to miss out on meeting everyone. Sometimes, life gets in the way of living. I think this is true for a lot of us here and when peeps disappear into the woodwork for awhile it sometimes means just that... Not sure what you mean about next fall? Are you coming here? Are you all coming here?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 2b)

Sounds rather Moose Jawish to me for the next RU, We must be carzy. Lets plan this one first. lol

Ginny - thinking of the spa

Victoria, BC(Zone 8b)

Echoes, I got you confused with jagonjune, about seeing in the fall next year. my mistake. But we'd still like to see you get out here, Christine too! Think of what a break it would be... OK OK, no more arm twisting.

About next year... I'll be in T.O the first week of July, and might have a couple of free days... LOL

Anywhere's fine. Maybe it should be biannual.. we'll talk!

Well you come here I can provide the spas, one bed and 2 canoes. Sorry no paddles.

Castlegar, BC(Zone 6b)

Shucks! We missed our chance, Linda. We coulda got Brenda goin' good. Shoulda told her, Yeah, did you miss the post were were had all decided that we were headin' out to Winnipeg this coming fall to visit her, 'cause we felt so bad no being able to see her in Victoria! Couldn't you just see her... panic city! What am I gonna do with all these women...! Oh well! Chances missed!! LOL

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Thank-You, Ingrid

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 2b)

Broots is missing too. Has been away but thought she would be home by now.

Fingernails. I'll have to stop breaking mine first. - In spite of garden gloves sometimes.
Ginny

Castlegar, BC(Zone 6b)

I hear ya Ginny. I'm famous for some how putting holes in the tips of mine!

Linda,

I don't eat meat but I do eat seafood and chicken sometimes. Do you want me to bring down a side of sockeye salmon to throw on the bbq?

Go to butchart gardens on Monday, I've been lots of times.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

There is also Kidneyguy (who is a she) and lives in Ontario as well.

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

We have 56 subscribers in all, not even counting those like kooger who don't live here but are part of the clan. Only a fraction are coming to this RU, which is neither here nor there. Would anyone want to take on (or share) e-mailing the rest, in case they didn't know about it? Or would that be too pushy? :-)

Newfoundland - 1
Nova Scotia - 1
New Brunswick - 1
Quebec - 4
Ontario - 24
Manitoba - 2
Saskatchewan - 3
Alberta - 4
BC - 16

~Shannon

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

yup - I counted 56 also. No, I don't think that is too pushy. Everyone in the upper midwest was emailed last spring for the IA RU. Hopefully no one was missed. Then they can make an informed decision and the more the merrier, right? :) I'm willing to spend a little time emailing this aft. How about I'll take ON, ok?

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Thanks for the offer & feedback, kooger. (Sorry I don't know your real name - or if I did, it escapes me!)
I'd be happy to do the other provinces - leaving out, of course, those who are already coming. I have to go out shortly for the afternoon, but should be able to get it finished this evening.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

I'll do Saskatchewan and Marc in Seattle......he has often talked about wanting to visit B.C.

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

p.s. it's at the top of this thread, Shannon. (I just peeked to find yours because I had already forgotten it!) lol Laura

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Woops! (chagrined) Thanks, Laura
OK Pam, I'll leave Saskatchewan alone - & any other provinces who get volunteers before I get back this evening. It's cool, windy & pouring rain here....hope you all are having better weather today!

Shannon

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 2b)

I haven't cancelled the cottage yet, so after Lynns suite is full (4 people) we can still have space by the water.
Ginny

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Thought it would save peeps some writing.......not that it took very long (my whole 3 are done). :) Included in my three was Marc in Seattle (RikerBear) he has talked about wanting to visit B.C. Donna is thinking of writing some, including Weezingreens, as well.......better wait to see who she is doing/done.
