I've been away from DG for a few weeks and just found this thread. This is a wonderful thing that everyone is doing. Would you put my name beside the two listed below. Me and my DIL would love to share with them and let them know how much we appreciate all of them. I'm also sending my son's 5th grade teachers all the names hoping that they will have all the kids send them Christmas cards. Take care everyone!

Just got back from Sam's. Have two small boxes.
Also have 3 mini Danish hams in cans to eat now. Remembered at home - no pork.

I also remembered that Altos mints were popular with my kids. Plus they come in round or rectangular tins. Listerine has those individual packs now. I got a box of the cinnamon flavored ones. Something that could be carried in the pocket to change the flavor of the mouth after MRE's. DVD's, beef jerkey packs, AA batteries. Figured they'd like the one set of dvd's which was Paris Hilton and that other girl in that tv show they did. Something besides burkhas may give the spirits a lift.

I think I've got all the names adjusted as well.

I picked up a drawing pad, pencils, winter socks, minis of personal care items, beef jerky, chocolate, sour candy and sweet candy, toothpicks and??? i'm sure there is something else i put in the cart.
We're getting our boxes together tonight to put in the mail tomorrow.

I can't remember if I posted this (bad case of the Some-timers)...but dermatologists get tons of tiny samples of sunscreen from manufacturers' reps and usually give to patients...but I bet if they thought it was for this project, they would dig into their cupboards and find lots more. And samples I got included Cetaphil and some good hand creams...good for pockets. :~)

Hey, what about the service dogs? Can we send things for them? I know they are not people and maybe don't care about the Holidays...but I think about them, too they are in harms way for all of us.
