Mel, that's a LOT of vinyl! What plans for them? I probably only have 1/10 that many, and that's a LOT to move.... over and over.

very cool! She got her start right here at Threadgills in Austin but that was way before I lived here. I use to see her (and big brother) in clubs and concerts in Philly a lot when I was in college.

Wow! How cool is that!!! I was just a touch younger, so didn't get in on the actual action of the 60's...although my sis did follow the Dead around the country in the early 70's (does that count?)

Darius, I just can't stand to see the vinyl thrown out...and so many folks do...it was a part of our lives and so much of it is out of print.

Several years ago, we had some children visiting...we were playing Beatles albums for them...the kids loved the colorful jackets...and one little boy kept asking 'where the cd was'...just couldn't comprehend that the big black thing was the music.

My little brother was the Dead Head in the family :-)

They probably crossed paths at one time or another...she set up and sold tie dye and fruit leather in the parking lots.

We still have ALL of ours, take space in the office! Our son doesn't even know what a 4 track is let alone records!

The day they announced that Timothy Leary had actually died, I had that old song running through my head all day, Timothy Leary's dead, ooooo ooo oooooooo Oh drat, now it's gonna do it again!!

We still have all our old vinyl albums, and a turntable but there's no space in the ent. unit for it what with the cd player, etc. We've gotten some of the old stuff on cd's that have been remastered and they are amazing, you hear a lot more than what was discernible on the vinyl. My grandson is a big Beetles fan...he like all the old stuff from the seventies. Doesn't seem that long ago to me.

I was kidding my daughter one day and told her to imagine the nursing homes in a couple of years, with the oldsters humming songs like One Step Over the Line......and Ruby...and (fill in your favorite here) ......LOL

Seattle, WA(Zone 8b)

We just went and saw 'Blonde' ala Deborah Harry playing at one of our local tribal casinos recently.
Can't believe she just turned 60!
