Hi Darius,
Good to see things moving forward. I re-separated my shoulder so I'LL come to visit when the work is done. LOL

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Arlene... too bad. a separated shoulder is no fun at all. Nor is moving.

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

darius, have you got that mini-warehouse cleared out yet? How much time do you have to get the rest of the stuff out of the lake house?
I start work tomorrow, pooey.

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Nope, just moved a few big things from the almost-cleared out unit yesterday. I hope that ncgardenaddict and I will be able to clear the lake house Tues-Weds, and get it vacuumed. All but the freezer... need strong help for it.

I have until Nov. 12 on my storage units. Praying for someone with a BIG truck, and 2 strong men... we could empty it and get it all here in about 3-1/2 hours and I have organized enough stuff here now to have room for all of it.

I need to go back to work too but it will have to be December at the earliest... and part-time.

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

I'm going down to SC to buy a lottery ticket, lol.

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Buy one for me, too... I'll share the winnings with you, LOL.

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

How about a 75%/25% split?

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

who gets the 75%? LOL

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

guess.......

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

LOL... but even at that, how would I know it was MY ticket and not yours?

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

I buy all the tickets in my name, if one wins, you get the split. Have you noticed this is becoming our private chatroom?

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

LOL, yes I noticed!

Payneville, KY(Zone 7a)

Not really, we are lurking :) and waiting.............

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

LOL, Kathy! I suppose you want a "share" of my winning lottery ticket too?

Payneville, KY(Zone 7a)

Well, of course...you and I can split the 75% part....:)

Hey I just changed my preferences to Eastern Standard Time and it might have fixed the time thingy here. Let me test again...It is 8:47 now according to my computer.

Edited to say, "By golly, that's what the problem was." It posted at 8:41 DG time...Yippee

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Glad you got THAT fixed as I know it was bugging you!

(I think woodspirit1 wants the 75%, LOL!)

Payneville, KY(Zone 7a)

It's sort of like knowing you know someone and can't remember their name. It's right on the tip of your tongue and I am not a quitter. I will do something until it is finished, even if it kills me! :)

Woodspirit1, I do believe that 100% 3 ways is 33, 33, & 34. I'm willing to give you the 34, because you physically have the ticket. LOL (I know it's really 33 1/3, but you need your cut, I understand these things)....

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

All these plans need an impartial adminastrator to hold the dough while everything gets figured. I will hold the dough lol and see to it everyone gets a fair share lol. Ernie

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

LOL ernie!

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

Wow, Ernie came out.
Darius, You're doing great just to keep one foot in front of the other over and over. It's how we get done eventually. Endless tho it sometimes seems. Been lurking too.

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Well, today I have been very lazy and have not done a darn thing except some cooking... and eating. (Plus DG, LOL!) I haven't even been out of the house today... Probably needed the day off.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

We hear ya! We were going to clean the removed trim today and prime it...Note the tense. Didn't happen. Nice to rest sometimes, isn't it? What did you cook? Did you eat it with your precious lone utensil?

Castelnau RB Pyrenée, France(Zone 8a)

LOL gw, I've been wondering if darius has any more cutlery too ;)

Loved that extra hour too - the only problem was that the ducks and chickens hadn't heard about it *G*

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

I've created a covetous mob.........
Trust me, darius has cutlery
I have to get ready to go to work. Shrieeeeeeek!

Fort Pierce, FL(Zone 10a)

Maybe we should start a "Lurkers Thread". We could all check it out and when nothing was there we could get on with the have-to-do's in our day!

Sorry, just being silly. I'm feeling giddy from the sugar rush. The kids didn't take all the Halloween candy and I'm having Kit-Kats and Peanut Butter Cups for breakfast! Weeeeeeeeee!!!

GW, yes I do have some utensils now. I found the box of the family silver(plate), service for 12, somewhat tarnished so I need to find the polish before ncgardenaddict and her mother come tomorrow. Still have not found my own flatwear but I also have 150 boxes yet in storage!

I cooked lamb shanks for a Mediterranean dish of lamb and cannellini beans. Also cooked some sweet Italian sausage so I can start a pot of spaghetti sauce this morning. If I simmer it all day it will be wonderful by tomorrow night for supper.

Fort Pierce, FL(Zone 10a)

Oh Darius *drool*. When I cooked I always started my spagetti sauce with sweet Italian sausage too. Brings back memories...and good smells!

I like anything lamb, but I like mutton better. I guess most people don't and that's the reason you can't find it in the stores. I used to work for a meat packer that imported their lamb from New Zealand, and they would always order a rack of mutton for me.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

I've never had lamb. When's dinner? ;) The spaghetti sounds wonderful. I can't WAIT until our kitchen is usable again! We've been watching FoodTV and dreaming of the dishes we can make. I won't mind dirtying up all lthe pans and such for once, either.

Castelnau RB Pyrenée, France(Zone 8a)

Ooooh I used to do lamb shanks from a Turkish recipe with cmin and tomatoes and....yum

NEVER had LAMB gw?? Wow, it's just about my favourite!
Yes, when's dinner - we'll all be over LOL
(Don't bother with the silver polish *g*

Promise to do the washing up :)

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

I love lamb, but it's very fatty. With a good leg of lamb cooked medium-rare, it's easy to see the fatty sections and slice them off. I cook a leg of lamb with fresh rosemary and garlic and it's delicious.

I simmered these shanks until falling off the bone, then strained out the meat and picked out any fat still remaining. Then I chilled the strained broth so I could de-fat it. I do the same when I make lamb stew, or any meat stew. Just don't like all that animal fat.

My lamb/bean dish was simply flavored with garlic, lemon and lots of fresh chopped flat-leaf parsley. I froze most of the broth for a later stew.

Philomel, you'd never want to do the washing up after I cook... I think I use almost every pot and utensil in the kitchen, LOL!

Castelnau RB Pyrenée, France(Zone 8a)

LOLOL Definitely electric dishwasher then!
;)

That dish sounds superb! Simple is usually best...

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

I sometimes wish I had a dishwasher, but not often. Everything you want is always in the dishwasher.... sometimes it's clean and sometimed unwashed yet... but always in the dishwasher.

Payneville, KY(Zone 7a)

I have a dishwasher and I never use it! People think I'm strange. I say I keep it around for holidays when there is a lot of company, but I've had a lot of big family dinners in the 10 years I've owned and not used the dw... I believe though that if I get rid of it, I'll want it LOL.

Castelnau RB Pyrenée, France(Zone 8a)

I've used one for years, but am very frustrated now because, although there's a space for it and a waste water pipe, we can't work out where the water in could come from :(

I've just built up a collection of various dishes and bowls and loads of cutlery, so always had enough

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

I used to have a dish on the menu of a restaurant I ran called "The Godfather's Spaghetti. " It had the sweet Italian sausage and a 1/2 cup of burgandy & 1/2 cup beef broth.
An interesting variation is to use a smoked sausage.

Castelnau RB Pyrenée, France(Zone 8a)

Mmmmm that sounds good :)

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

My spousal unit likes to put smoky flavoring in it. I'm not sure I trust the ingredients in that, though.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Woodspirit, that sounds *wonderful*. Have you ever posted it in recipes? Would you?

[quote}I sometimes wish I had a dishwasher, but not often. Everything you want is always in the dishwasher.... sometimes it's clean and sometimed unwashed yet... but always in the dishwasher.[/quote]

That's the POINT for me, LOL! They're in the dishwasher, not piled in my sink or on my counter. I can deal with that. ;)

Castelnau RB Pyrenée, France(Zone 8a)

.....and me :)
