Well this weekend we moved our shed and that stupid tent thing that takes up most of the yard. It was really easy after I moved the compost bin, LOL.
The area that I will have is right there inbetween the tent and shed. I have alot of oak trees that shade that area. I really want to plant something that will hide that fence, UGH. Im also going to have to put up a fence/barrier(sp?) behind the shed to keepthe dogs from trampling what ever I plant there.
You can see pretty much where the tent was by all that dirt, I really dont like that thing but DH needs a spot to put his truck especialy since he had to cut a hole in the hood to accomidate the air cleaner since hes built the engine up so much.
It wont be a big garden area but It will be nice to have an area I can see from the house without having to go out in the yard. Perfect for an early morning with coffee in hand. Now to think about what Im going to put there. LOL
Im going to have a shade area to plant
Drave, I see foxgloves in your future! :)
ooOOOOOoo I love foxgloves and dont have any yet.
Dravencat, I would suggest Hydrangea petiolarius for the fence. It is slow growing but a very beautiful vine . The one I had at my old place grew beautifully up against an ugly side of a building. Smelled wonderful when in bloom.
Seems like a great spot for hostas, aquilegia-columbines, astibes would be nice contrast. Hope these help. Donna
Absolutly Rutholive, thank you. I need ideas because when it comes right down to it I dont have much imagination when it comes to some things to plant, especialy in shade. Just dont have much of it.
I figured tho that I would like to not have to worry about weeding, maybe a big ol' cluster of different flowers that smell good as well as look good. Im going to plant some things on the other side of the shed to kind of frame around it and the fence. The kids swingset is just to the right of the shed as your looking at it so I only have about 8 feet of space there, mostly shade but alot of afternoon sun.
Magpye and Weesingreens, loved your poop stories and your poem to Wees. iwish there were some place around here where i could get some the good stuff, but can't find any so I buy my manure by the bag. Works good but more expensive. Mag, I hope the brakes are okay. I make compost as fast as possible but use if faster. He he. Donna
LOL, it took me a second to realize what thread that was from. heehee
