End of Season fun. Come Play!

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Polly- I love your orange custard, I don't know this one. Where did you get it. I think I need one- LOL.... Shirley, I love your Pumpkin brug too. Orange and yellow are two of my favorite colors. Colors I'm sadly lacking in my garden.

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

Some very lovely photo's...I can see why we all love brugs, they are just beautiful!!!
I took this picture last week at a neighbor church....I wish I could say it was mine, but it isn't ! It stands about 10' high and is out all year long, I am sure...some of the bloosoms were single and others double. It was so nice and white and crisp looking!

Wow, such beautiful pictures of Brugs. I love them all and want them all. LOL We have another hurricane headed in bringing us rains and possibly frost afterwards. I hate to see winter come.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Nice brug Margie. Ada, if it weren't for bad luck, you would have had any this year. I feel so bad for you. I thought things were going to straighten up, but I heard about this latest one coming in yesterday. Hope it isn't strong and I sure hope you don't get a frost.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Thanks, Shirley. Hopefully next year will be a better one.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

This is one of Shirley's crosses ... blooming all summer and still getting buds on it!!

Pretty brugs Scoot and Deb. All of the pictures on this thread are great. I hate to think that flowering time is over until next year. I'm watching the very last of mine fall off in the garage.

Shirley ... here is a close up ... it is trying to get darker.

Wow, great color. Can you tell I'm into oranges right now. LOL! Thanks Deb.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Oh WOW. What great pics. I just love them. I am so jealous of Pphil1's dark pink color Rosamond. If mine were that dark I would be so happy!

Bluegrass, I would be so happy with such nice blooms also.

Monika, I am a glutton for your Rubinglut not to mention your beloved Rubirosa.

Betty, I have never heard of your brug before, just stunning.

There are so many beauties now, I know I will have to get used to enjoying lots of brugs from afar. When I started, it was conceivable to have them all, but not any more. Way too many now.

Here is a favorite.

Nice pictures, everyone!

Kell, is that last picture you posted one of your famous red?

Mukwonago, WI(Zone 5a)

I have enjoyed looking at all those great pics. Brugmansia is an Amazing Plant. With all it's unique characteristics and colors...I can understand why it is so hard to designate which one is the best

This will probably be the only time I will ever have a flowering Sang. I owe it all to the unusually cool summertime temps here in Wisconsin. Certainly not something I did :)

Wow great shots everyone. Kell is that the red we have drooled over all summer???? One of my many favorites is Hawaiian Dbl White

Donna........ I love the pic of your HDW ! Did you have any problems with it throwing out distorted flowers? I have Species and...for the life of me...I can't figure out why some of its flowers were nasty looking this year? I expected this to happen to a few....but not as many as I've gotten this year. Maybe my Sp.is getting old or I need to switch to a different dbl white for next year-huh?

BTW.....you sure had a great 'brug' year ! So many nice varieties with every pic a treat for the eyes.

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

All I can say is Wow !! so many beautiful brugs. I enjoyed looking at everyone of them . I still have about 8 seedlings that are loaded with their first buds. I am really hoping our weather holds out long enough to get to see them bloom and hoping for at least one that isn't white.

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

Donna, A real beauty .
.................The HDW cuttings you sent me last year bloomed late this summer (everything was late this year).
One of them kept throwing segmented blooms so I started thinking it might be a SW. Just when I double tagged it , she dropped down 2 BEAUTIFUL blooms. Love it.

Sorry, no Pics, camera on the fritz.

BTW, Thanks ....... I love white !

Decatur, IN(Zone 5a)

Unfortunately I didn't get a very good picture of my first & only bloom. I still need to go back and look up its name since the name on the tag it came w/ faded in the sun. None of my other brugs bloomed but they tripled in size. I can't wait till next summer.

Looks like it could be Dr. Suess. Very pretty Gemila.

I also just love this one...Whiskers...it only had 2 blooms, but has about 7 buds right now and I am hoping that it will bloom this year yet...

Monika, your pictures are always my favorites.

Since this is the only pretty one I've had bloom, and haven't had more than 3 blooms at a time here is L'Amour again. I do love this brug.

Kell,
What is the name of your favorite. It looks nice and dark to me?

This is my best seedling from this summer - such heavy fragrance and pinkness made it beautiful day and night.

Very pretty, Eileen.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Which one is that Pphil1? Looks dark with a long neck. Doesn't ring a bell. My favorite brug to date has to be Rosamond. There are others that are fast coming around that coorner but Rosamond has a history with me and has preformed over and over again! Plus I have a huge tree of it. Just huge. LOL

Eileen what a great pinwheel pic. Do you have a pic of it open?

Yes, the last pic of mine was "red" on the first day. Such a pretty brug. The last flush was only one bloom (one fell off) and it was nothing to exclaim about but the weather had been off. I am hoping for great things in warmer climates next year.

Here is my Butterfly. I think. LOL

another favorite is Golden Lady

Many of my seedlings never made it to the flowering stage because of a couple of set backs this year - natural and man-made. Yes...my 'man' tried to killed everything in all my gardens this year :)

This was one seedling that made it through all of those disasters. It's flower was clear yellow and it had a very fine edge of red. In addition it had staying power during the hottest days and its fragrance was wonderfully 'sweet' and strong. I believe it is a Cala cross of TS x L'A. Susie...you sure have created some wonderful crosses.

Amazing pictures, amazing brugs!!!

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

These are all wonderful and I just want to add that this spot is RESERVED for me next year I hope

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

I broke my camera but I wanted to say something about Spring Peach. The blooms have a very nice shape and are quite long-lasting. I didn't think I was going to like this one at first because it is a bit pale, but it's in so much shade that I think planted most anywhere else, it would be quite pretty. I am moving it to a sunnier spot next year......

Ashton, IL(Zone 5a)

This is the open flower of my seedling (see pinwheels above).

So nice Eileen. Reminds me of Buttterfly but more of a true pink.

Ashton, IL(Zone 5a)

Thanks Kell! This was the Eventide X Butterfly cross. It has had at least 14 flowers on it since it began to bloom in early Sept, and it's still in a 2-3 gallon pot. Now it's got a bunch of new buds.

I am enjoying your thread - there is so much beauty out there!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Looks like she is a keeper to me. I am trying to remember if BF has a fragrance. Just its true pink makes it different from its parent and possibly worthy of a name.

Isn't Eventide that bicolored mini orangey brug of Susie's?

I have a question, please. Do some keep their blooms on for a much longer time? What is the average, days or weeks?
