dose any one know how to store these for winter ???????
calla lilly
I dig them up as soon as the first frost gets here. Pull off all the leaves and lay the tubers out so they will dry. Once they are dry, wrap them in crumpled newspaper and put them in a box or bushel basket. Don't use plastic. They will rot if they can't breathe. I always put a good layer of crumpled newspaper on the bottom, top and between the tubers. The trapped air is part of the insulation. Store the box where it won't freeze or get above 45oF. Next spring ther will be little noses of green on one side of the tuber. That is the top. Each little nose can make a new plant but don't cut the tubers into too small pieces. Sandy
thank so much had lost twice here and want to be sure i don,t lose these.
