San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I can't believe how your backyard has grown up. Too think it will be covered in snow in the not to distant future. Why does winter come when our gardens are at their height of perfection?

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

I am excited Shirley,I hope she brings a truck, rumor has it she will have a Uhaul,LOL!! I am sure I can find a cutting or two,LOL!

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

One of these days I'm gonna hop in the car and take a road trip. I just gotta see how the rest of you all live in warmer country. I love the picture of Thea trying to stuff the van. LOL I'd love a chance to meet a DG buddy, and have one live close enough to swap plants and help each other out.

Must have been a Jehovah's Witnesses recruitment day. I had them here too, but I hid in the bathroom. :) I knew it was them because they had pamphlets in their hand when they got out of the van. But, hey, I was still running around the house in my robe trying to clear the clutter so I could dust and I hadn't even brushed my hair OR my teeth yet.

Had they come later in the morning, I would have been presentable and the house would have been somewhat cleaned up. I do sometimes take the time to visit with them, but not in my robe on a Sat. morning.

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

Root, I'd love to sip some lemonade on your deck. It looks so lovely.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Joan, they never even gave me a pamplet, they had to many plant questions, and forgot why they came.
Pebble,I would love it! I hope all is well with you,so good to see you posting.

N.C. Mts., NC(Zone 6b)

Root, now that I'm digging up the elephant ears, what do I do next? Shake the dirt off ? Cut down how close to the bulb? this is my first time to grow them. HELP.

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

Like eveyone else, I'm impressed!!!!

Meade, KS(Zone 6a)

Root,
If posting my picture on Dave's is a prerequisite..then I am going to rethink this dig. Ok, coming anyway....................Will wear my serial killer garden hat...maybe those cops will come back....hummmmm Janetlee

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

LOL! Yep,I want to see that hat!
Lizh,I leave them lay in the grass for a few days to dry, chop off the browned tops and store,I hope we are talking common Ears,Colocasia?

VS71099 just pulled out,What a great gal!! And Hubby D. is a great guy, this is so much fun meeting everyone!!

JanetLee,bring a big truck,LOL!!

Meade, KS(Zone 6a)

Darn
Those people took my plant.........I'm calling the cops and Jehovah Witnesses....LOL Janet

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

I can't believe,I have not even dented this yard!!
JanetLee,I still have too much stuff!!There is plenty with your name on it!!Yep you can blame Shirley1md,friend of hers, friend of mine!

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

Besides bringing your truck, shovels & other digging accoutrements, don't forget those Bungie Cords!!! You don't want your Banana, Brug or Palm Trees flying out of your pick-ups, do you??? :~)

Then the cops would surely track you down for littering the streets of K.C. and the Jehovahs would be there to bear Witness!! :~)

N.C. Mts., NC(Zone 6b)

Thanks Root, I am talking about the common ears.

Meade, KS(Zone 6a)

Shirely,
They're going in the uhaul and the only way they will escape, is to pick the lock or use dynamite. Thanks for the plug on my web page works. Janet

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

It is amazing how beautiful your yard has become in just one summer. I remember when you started on deck and back porch and your yard. It is a gorgeous and so inviting looking. If I lived nearby, I know I would stop by occassionally and just visit and relax looking out over all the beauty of your plants. It is so peaceful looking. I know that those you are sharing with must be thrilled as they pack some of those beauties in their vehicles.

Weatherford, TX(Zone 7b)

Root, your place is a work of art, amazing. How do you find the time to do all that work AND deal with the witnesses AND the police. I once had the witnesses, babtist & fire department at my house in the city all at the same time. However, unlike you, the firemen were not there to water my plants!! Sure made for an interesting day. We moved to the country six years ago and being off the road with two large dogs kinda puts a stop to the witnesses and the babtist commin to call.I still have a preacher callin on us much of the time, cant seem to run him off cause I married his son 15yrs ago! You sure seem to have alot of fun digging all your lovely yard up. Im glad that you can do that. It is always sad at the end of summer when it all has to go. I have a greenhouse that really makes winter much better and I still hate to see it all go away!! Need to move on down a little more south one of these days. Anyway,I was just gonna say how much yall made me laugh reading this thread. YOU GUYS are a hoot!!! Badseed watchout, I have a co-worker that is a witness and she is the baby of Sixteen children!! So dont open that door again for them,ya hear!! hehe

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

Oops.......should have stated "open cab" pick-up trucks, like the one that VS71099 & DH are leaning on. Sure wouldn't want to see that tree lying in the middle of the road!

Glad to give you a "plug" on your web page works, Janet. I'm simply tellin' the truth!

Have a great DIG, everyone!!

Osage City, KS(Zone 5b)

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

It sounds like your annual dig was a HUGE success! From the looks of Janetlee 50's pick-up, she'll definitely need to bring a moving van next year!! :~) Great lookin' picture ladies!!!
