Would love advice on purchasing a digital camera to take photos of my flowers. My trusty 35mm (and my fading skills) made for disappointing photos this season. I need one that is easy to learn to use, not very expensive and that can compensate for camera shake.....
digital camera for bloom photos
I luv my sony(all sony's)cyber shot
smart zoom dsc-P72
im not sure how to work alll the stuff on it so i just click n shoot-delete and shoot again! :)
works for me!
Im sure its cheaper now-mines a yr or 3 now! get the larger memory card!!!
i bought a cannon A70 about a year ago from ritzcamera.com and it cost about 300.00. i'm sure the prices have gone way down by now. the camera is great. is has an automatic mode which requires you to just press the shutter botton and the camer does the rest. it also has 11 other modes which goes from closeups to portrait to video.
hope that helps.
I am using a Kodak Easy share Dx4530. Been well pleased with it. My daughter has an Olympus. Good camera but all the bells and whistles are too complicated for me. The Kodax does just about everything for you.
Thanks folks, will do checking on these.
Melody, which daylily is that? It looks like my 4" ,36" tall one-latest to bloom and one of my favorites-looks like campfire embers and has the best structure in my yard'..would make great photo op!!!
Just a ditch lily....just happenes to have a little more intense coloration than normal...but still pops up everywhere.
I purchased a HP 945 this summer and really love it. There are less expensive ones with less zoom and the quality of the pictures is unbelievable. Lou
While I have Lou nearby (and a pic of her Cereus that she gave me last year at the Roundup!) I just wanted to say I have a Kodak DX3600 with the dock that lets you download pics by pushing one button. Very easy to use and now that I've discovered the "close up" button most of my pics are finally looking decent!
(PS...Lou, what is that long shoot growing out of the plant? It is round, not flat like the leaves, and is now about 18 inches long! Does a flower come from that?)
HI and thanks-this will help with the search and price comparison.
Shoe, Hi and it looks like it is growing great! Unfortunately, no the blooms start in scallops of the leaves. It has some flat stems, some round stems and some flat leaves. It is just a crazy plant. Keep it in a cool place this winter, If you all have winter, very little water over the winter. When I put mine out then in the spring, she starts growing buds. It takes the buds a couple of weeks to grow because they are so large. The day or two before the bud opens, it will turn the bud upward so it faces up, whereas the buds fa ce downward.( If that makes any sense at all). Lou
Thanks, Lou! I keep it in the g-house in the winter (only heat it to 50 at nite). Sure has grown well, eh? What an great "crazy plant"! (And mine is growing 'hairs' from the leaves! Rootlet maybe?)
And now, back to Marcia's regularly scheduled thread...
Aw Shoe--my regularly scheduled message is "Monk"!
HI Lou..sending Shoe some strange plants!!?
Hehehe....MONK! Waaahhhh....!
And no, no sending plants to me from Lou...she handed me that plant last year, in person! It was just a baby then! If it keeps growing like it has though I'll send you a cutting, Marcia!
Marcia...probably a little late but I'm adding it anyway.
I LOVE MY SONY!! :-)
I have the Cybershot F717 with the Carl Zeiss Lens...and I love it! I also have a Nikon CoolPix, I think it takes a bit better photo, but I have a hard time holding steady so the heavier Sony is always my pick to be sure I get the shot.
my .02 worth...and say do you still have those sedums? ;-)
