Where's our Storm Watcher, BT??
FL Panhandle DG's
I've been wondering too! Maybe he changed his mind and is boarding up his windows, lifting plants, etc.
Or else he started his Hurricane party early........
Maybe he checked "Unwatch"???
BT, SOS, SOS, SOS!
chris my checklist and your checklist are the same ;) cheerz!
hang on Fl I hope ya'll are safe!
We are now getting Flash Flood Warnings for tonight and tomorrow along the bottom of the Weather Channel... and we are many, many, many miles inland... although still in Bonnie's projected path. I guess it's the 'associated' rain.
Not boarding windows, just getting supplies in case the electicity goes off...the worst part is no internet! This Bonnie is a little thing, the last one we had was Opal and it did some damage. Unless it grows I am not worried.
BT, on the other hand, might want to take heed....get double supplies!!!
Weeds.......No 'net.....oh noooooooo! I've got most of tomorrow off too.
Has the wind picked up quite a bit? How much rain so far today?
Weeds, Bonnie doesn't worry me as much for you as for me... Those storms always bring so much rain to our area and cause so much flooding. Your limestone dissipates it rather quickly. Clay does not.
Charlie may be another story.
Sprinkled a little today off and on, no wind, dead still. That calm before the storm. If it hits during the day will get pics.
Thank you!! I love seeing pictures of storms!
Take care Darius...those flash floods are really nasty!
Lilypon... I'd take a hurricane any day over flooding.
I actually love hurricanes as long as they are not so terribly damaging.
I love the initial exhilaration as they are approaching, but I REALLY love the aftermath when all the negative ions fill the air and everything smells and feels so clean and fresh!
Glad Weeds will have her camera, if not Internet Access, which will come.
I can understand that...a couple of weeks ago we had a tornado watch/warning. We had the high winds (the tornados touched down around us), but the hail and the flooding did the most damage.
Lilypon, I have always meant to say I love the name of your location! I doubt I would want to try and garden in 3b; it must be quite a challenge.
I never got to that part of Canada when I was a Mfg. Rep. there and I was always sorry.
Hey Darius, I love that name too....I am going there one of these days...look out lilypon, here we come!

Thank you....I've always liked it too. :)
Our summer temps can be somewhat similar to yours (very rarely do we have weeks of high humidity). This year is the exception....only one week of just over a hundred and the rest has been very wet and cool. No challenge......everything I enjoy has to come in for 9 months of the year. ;) The rest are very, very, very hardy.
I would love to see your area Darius....I've been to California, the mid-western and northern States, and Atlantic City. I am chomping on the bit to see the Southern States.
Weeds, Darius..........BRING PLANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D
Find a good hiding place Scarlet!!
Okay, Folks, I'm going to bed. Bonnie and Charlie will do as they will whether I am awake or not, LOL.
Hi everybody. I'm usually signed off by this time, but wanted to make one more check to see how everybody's doing. My son just called all in a snit because he's flying home tomorrow morning. Changes planes in Houston and doesn't know if flights will be affected. I think it will be passed by the time they fly over the Gulf coast.
Darius, be careful up there. I remember those creeks rising so fast! Floods in flat land are annoying, in the mountains they are dangerous.
Everybody stay safe, see you in the morning.
Pati
P.S. I'm not going to BT's hurricane party...he forgot to put salt on his list! LOL
Sweet dreams you two.
I am up! Just finished cooking dinner....my own kinda party. Still no winds or rain. Go figure.
The calm before the storm??? How far away are you from Tampa Bay?
Please keep us updated as you can. I hope everything just blows over and all you get is a little rain and alot of leaves in the yard.
I am about 6 hrs from tampa! Floridian is right there though...haven't heard from her. i am the one in Bonnie's path, not Charlies.
Checking back in my self.
I get off at 4:00 now, and usually don't get back on until 8 or so. Went to church with the kids tonight for the 1st time in about 20 years. My youngest and oldest enjoy it. The middle one and my self, the jury's still out on. I did appreciate what was talked about tonight though.
Anywho. If the path continues the track it's on, we'll leave the house, and head to the office during the storm. The house is framed and has a lot of glass. The office is CB and stucco.
Good thing I mixed the Margueritas in a to go pitcher.
Sorry Weeds....I swore that was BT's post. Been looking at the screen too long. Hope Floridian is prepared and isn't in harms way.
lol @ BT....sounds like a good plan. Got plenty of sleeping bags for everyone?
Unlike Darius, I can't sleep through these. I want to experience them.
I've only been in the eye once, and it's surreal. To see all that fury, followed by calm, and then have it all return is like nothing you've ever seen.
Goingto be an interesting weekend.
Bonnie prolly won't even have an eye and i love being in the weather too. I get chicken when it hits 4 though and run with my pets to a safer place. I live 6 blocks from the wa wa and yikes.
Weeds,
Floridian is right down the road from me.. (mostly, just a few miles, I think.) So she's in the same path I'm in.. eek!
I'm thinking it won't be *so* bad, though I hear there will be wind gusts at 51mph. Whole lots of no fun, especially since I just planted a "I don't *like* drafts" kind of plant.. heh.
4's on up, you get the heck out of the way of. That's a storm you don't pla with. One's and 2's, a little common sense will get you through it easily.
I will be watching this thread often tomorrow....hope all of you will have power!
Ok lily, Bonnie seems to be fizzling.
good luck my friends~ cya all in the morning!
Niters NotMartha
I missed the info on the first one and was doing the "hurricane hussle" for Charley when I found out about the Tropical storm headed to our Florida folks...sorry guys! Please, stay safe.
We will be keeping all our DG Family in their paths in our prayers, too.
MsC
Stay safe you guys and gals! Thinkin' 'bout all of yall this a.m.
Lisa, Glad you are escaping this one!
