I'm in San Diego, and it seems a stellar year for 1000s of white butterflies and green (buffalo) tree hoppers.
Yeah San Diego has an ant season and there are a lot of those too, it's like the ants are the public transportation network for the insect world.
What do you do?
How do you get rid of 1000s of these guys?
I love butterflies... but eeps! Their larva is eating everything and the pretty little things are just laying more eggs.
Dovey
White Butterflies and Tree Hoppers "ack"
One of our potted tomato plants from last year is still growing (we are in LA) and I was hoping to see it fruit again this year. Then it became infested with IMMATURE KEEL-BACKED TREEHOPPERs. I looked them up and did four things: removed them by hand, sprayed with Safer, sprinkled cayenne around the plant and put it on a table with its legs in containers of water to stop the ants from getting to it. Hope it works.
