Sanguinea Seedlings in Wisconsin ..........

Cool bloom Renee. Is it what you were expecting? I hope the bloom is a long lasting one.

Thanks all...... It has been a real challenge growing this one. I've never babied any brug as much as this one. Whoever heard of lugging a brug into the air conditioning because it couldn't tolerate moderate heat??? A lot had to do with the weather patterns too. Wisconsin was very cool and wet this year. I doubt this will happen again in the future. It is just nice to be able to see and feel the flowers and leaves first hand.

Brugie: Yes....this one is 'Inca Queen' and looks like pics I've seen. Only mine is prettier-ROFLOL :) From today on..... I'm on the death watch to see how long the flower actually holds up. It took a very long time for it to open completely. (the better part of 1 week) We're going to be hot and humid for the next few days so I'm bringing the plant inside again. There are still about 6 or 7 smaller buds that I'd like to try to pollinate. I've never seen a Flava and would like to try my hand at one...if I can be so lucky.

This was taken yesterday afternoon. Almost there but not totally opened.

Yaaay! (((renee))) Happy Dance time ! ! ! ! !

Oh .... Pollen ??? Way cool !

Mukwonago, WI(Zone 5a)

Thanks Brugie..... I'll be on the look-out for it; and will LYK as soon as it arrives. Good thing you are on-the-ball, girl. Knowing me... I would have probably let this opportunity pass me by :)

Oh Scoot...This is so FUN ...isn't it??? I've spent the better part of this morning talking and writing about this flower ! Talk about wasting time-ey??? About pollinating: Brugie suggested I do something w/ the flowers (other than look at them-duh) She is so right !!! I'm glad she is thinking ahead because all I've been able to do is sit and stare at this unusual flower today. You know it only takes a granule to set a pod and I'm sure Brugie wouldn't mind if you applied some of her pollen to your own Sang. Want to try hitting yours ? Just LMK...I'll get some to you. Will you be overwintering yours? How about cuttings???? Would you/could you consider a trade ? Of coarse....only if you're interested???

But there is another nice fat bud on the plant behind it. Look by the tip of the tendril. Maybe if this one hangs on ? ? ? ?

Scoot, I honestly think you have the greenest brugs I've ever seen, whew!!! I'm thinking you have a terrific green thumb and you landed in zone 5a, which seems to produce oh, so much, good stuff, wow!!!

Mukwonago, WI(Zone 5a)

Its a deal...Scoot. We'll talk after you return home. That second bud looks like its on pretty good. I'll keep my fingers crossed for it to hold on until the pollen arrives.
